Actually heard some light rain early this morning - what a lovely sound. Only about 1mm but wonderful to me smile

Knotty - I'm hearing you!! I'm a 58 drop, so similarish to you.

WR - it's not all doom and gloom as you get older, there are other good experiences in life BUT the most carefree years are the years of school and maybe a few years after - everything is shiny and new and there are new things to discover etc etc

The funny thing is that MOST of the dramas we have (or think we have) as teens of course become very minor as we age and we realise we might have been too caught up in the wrong thinking. smile We've all been there I suspect smile

As the line goes "I wish I knew then what I know now" grin That line is true in so many circumstances smile

But we all must move forward anyhow, that's what life is for most.

Hoping for a bit of claggy weather today and hopefully reports of flakeage from Shooters of Yetholme etc. smile

Unfortunately after this front things look rather warm to finish off July. Probably see days in the low 20s for Sydney to cap off the month, which could be enough to push Sydney (and many other areas) to see their warmest July maxima on record (however nights should remain cool, so 2013 should still hold the overall record you'd think for Obs Hill)

Yeah I've been told these things by many older people, like my grandparents for instance. As a side note, I have tremendous respect for older people as you guys just have so much knowledge and wisdom and I feel blessed that you people made a young and dumb whipper-snapper like me feel welcome here grin

----------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, it's not really that cold here, although the strong winds are making it feel a little chilly. So Ben reckons that we could have 20+ temps until the end of July once that run starts. Certainly won't feel like winter this time next week!! We will plunge back into the cold at some point though, probably rather dramatically!! smile

Don't know bout a plunge back into cold after upcoming warm spell WR. Word on the street is a warm August. Combine that with the warm June and warm end to July and the winter as a whole could be up in record territory.
Gonna enjoy these few cooler days whilst they last. Winters last hurrah. For day time temps at any rate. Nights will still produce a few chillers.
Nothing out of the ordinary for July here in Glendale. West wind feels cold though. Fairly cloudy.

God I miss a nice evening with wind driven rain belting on the windows. Howling. Foul weather. Better luck next year

Yeah not too un-ordinary here for July either with a top of 17C with plenty of sun and plenty of wind. There has been some minimal passing cloud.

As well as a bit of a dusting at Shooters Hill, there was also one on Barrington Tops.

Temps in the 20's will feel rather warm next week.

Apart from the breeze and suffering static electricity numerous times today it was really nothing out of the ordinary, It also nearly reached 18c too!! forecast 17c.

Some nice dark clouds offshore late this arvo, could possibly be another lightshow tonight, lets hope anyway.

Chilly wind.

I reckon you'd be good in the Bom LRH smile

Very windy overnight here - woke me up for a while.

QUITE cool in the wind this morning, my new racy haircut is chilling my noggin today!!!

These are the coldest feeling days of our winter out here for me. Not the temp but the cold lazy breeze.

A liitle warmer than forecast in Newie today. The fresh wind has stubbornly clung to a bit more north west in it rather than with some south west in it. Very clear. Gonna be a chilly nite

Clear, breezy and quite chilly in Sydney now. "Apperent" temps are around 4-5, real temps 13-14.

Judging by those cold readings down South, there must be a cold front passing through there, or maybe colder air gradually moving in. Even in Sydney, it peaked around 1:30PM instead of closer to 3:00 like most sunny days with no sea breeze. Camden and Campbelltown peaked in the mid 15's, over 2 degrees cooler than Penrith and Richmond.

I note that the BOM are forecasting a minimum of 4 for OH on Saturday morning, 0 at Parramatta and -4 at Richmond and Campbelltown. That's a 'courageous' forecast, coldest since at least 2010 at OH and Richmond if it comes off.
