Parts of Sydney already 25. I think record will be smashed once cloud goes. Richmond still a few degrees to go top record from old site of 27.6 in 1990. The new site record there from last year will go probably

Thats equal to current penrith site record. Heavens above. 30 is achievable.

Ulladulla beating the Moruya record of 25.7 with a 25.8. Wind has gone wsw at Gabo. But weak. The low has no grunt now.

Wind has turned light westerly here and temp up to 25.1C. So it shouldn't be long before Albion Park breaks out of the seabreeze. The wind feels so warm, it's weird.

Not sure if it will reach 30C there but 28 is certainly possible. I personally think it will just stay at 27C but I could be wrong.

I wanna go for a drive to the beach and maybe swim but I don't know if I'd be under the limit yet. Better not risk it at this point.

Getting bloody windy here now with a NNWer I guess. Nudging 26C now with 25.6 on my thermometer.

OMG it's 28C at Penrith now!! Maybe I should've stuck with my original forecast.

Sydney record will be crushed. Penrith has beaten the old Richmond site. This is historic. And frightening.

Singleton doing the best in the Hunter 24.6c.

I reckon GFS cloud forecast was spot on for this event.

Yeah it certainly was spot on with everything really. GFS picked this pool of heat to arrive today from 8 days out with 17-18C 925mb temps in almost every model run, hence the crazy 27-28C forecasts I was going for. But my forecast was wrong anyway because my final prediction was 26C for the Sydney area.

You wont be the only one wrong WR, I went for 24c for here, so far my top has been 20.1, currently its 19.9c. Still no wind either.

Just to give you an idea how thick this cloud is, Tocal's top so far is 18.3c and Williamtown is 17.6c.

I would be fuming if I lived up there Eddy. You must be disappointed too? And yes I do feel sorry for Derek, he probably told his family that it would be nice weather! grin

Westerly has broken through. Instant 27C at Albion Park, 26.4 here. Could nudge 28 given that Moss Vale is on 21.

Don't get me wrong, its a pleasant enough day, it certainly doesn't feel cold, but yeah forecast of 26c, you would assume bright sunshine.
Looking at the sat pic we may get some late afternoon sunshine yet.

Yeah you certainly could get some sun, in which case you will get a late max.

Meanwhile it's now indeed nudging 28C. Moss Vale is now 21.4 and rising. 29C could happen, it's not out the question with such warm temps on the highlands.

I do hope that Obs Hill breaks the record by more than 0.1 of a degree.
