Can't recall my hands being so cracked and dry. This weather does wonders for dry eye too

Wish the wind would [censored] off, I'm trying to sleep!!

Feels like a cold front here, thrashing wind and temp of 11C.

Little cooler today. The nights are beginning to not want to go sub ten. Wind helps that of course. Ho hum weather. As that sun gets higher the second half of August will likely be a shocker temp wise. If I lived near bush I would prep now. A plan. Amazing how some don't plan even though wear are such a dry continent with volatile bush cover. Let's hope and pray a major reversal into wetter than average occurs to tamp threats down.

I agree, it's been a boring run but today was a seriously stunning day with light to moderate westerlies. But the wind is back tonight with plenty of force. It's been very bad lately, we lost a small tree branch Sunday night and a huge tree branch yesterday so there's only half a tree left, and if it falls, it's on top of my bedroom.

I wasn't home most the day yesterday but there must've been 100km/h + winds at some stage.

FFS the wind is getting worse, and just as I typed I heard a tree branch fall and scrape the roof, just a minute ago. And only gusts in... the 40's at Albion Park and Bellambi!?!? Would have to be at least double that here.

Slight wind here. If it drops it should go sub ten as its clear. The forecast is unbelievable for this time of year from Thursday onwards. A week where each day could be 5 to 6 degrees or more on some days above average. A whole week. Could understand a few days. But heck.

Well you guys are lucky. I can't believe how localised it is too. Still smashing away here while the other places around are sitting on a leisurely 28km/h.

Does anyone know what has happened to the Penrith weather station? It has given no reading for all of August thus far.

ABC news just shows blanks everday.

@Morham
maybe they have decided to call it quits collecting temp data etc. The rollback starting at Penrith. They play with the data anyway so what's it matter.

Or maybe the 28 degree heatwave knocked it out?

I see Penrith AWS is back online.

I wonder what the problem was. I'm pretty sure it wasn't lightning this time. cool

Lol, climate change is supported by that event, even if the station is still fairly short term by comparison with others.

A sneaky little southerly breeze has been blowing here for the last hour or so, it must very shallow as we are being greatly affected by smoke from a burn out at Clarence Town.

Sydney nearly 21 even under today's conditions. Looked like a sub 20 until the wind went onshore. Hate to live in the westerly parts of the basin during the next week. People out there would still be recovering from Jan and Feb and even the 28 a week or so ago. But a week possibly peppered with high 20's and maybe some 30's is a little much.

I think this winter has seen a nor west flow for a greater number of days than I can ever recall. Even in my surfie days. Mind you I can't recall stuff too far back because of my surfie days he he he.

Light frost this morning on car, colder than forecast.
Was about 2C driving through Lochinvar, just past the airport where the weather station is.
Now 1.5C according to 24 hour readings.
Holy hell, next week upgraded to 30C for next Wed, will be some records for mid-August by the look of it.
Probably not going to challenge the 1995 record/s this early, so will need another backup heatwave to do it.

Holy @rap it's warm at home today. Almost 23 at Norah with hours of heating yet. Unless sea breeze kicks in
