Interesting read on "rings" "banding" in doppler radar images:
http://www.lakeeriewx.com/CaseStudies/CaribouRadar/ConcentricRadarRings.html

Based on that read and the way Buckland Park failed I'd hazard the guess its' mechanism for aiming the radar up broke.

Very pleased to see 28mm in the gauge in total from the raindband. Nothing heavy, just a good old fashioned soaking rain!

Should add that puts us dead on our average rainfall for August smile

Make a it the wettest 24 hours for August

Also dullest day ever recorded, max solar was only 95w/m2

Another 15.3mm in the gauge as at 7am this morning brings the rainband total to 19.8mm as at 7am.

Yesterday was a good old fashioned winter rain which I remember from the late 1960's & 1970's. Sadly they are few and far between these days.

Well the SE did pretty much benefit from this NW Cloud band event with a drenching and a half but now it would be nice if Mother Nature could kindly drag old man winter kicking and screaming into hibernation so we can have a sunny spring full of potential storms and so on
