The irony is QANTAS does not seem to support workers rights in Australia, the way they shut down so much and moved it off shore.

Also with Turbull saying he will support the US should NK do something stupid. Why is there no postal vote or plebiscite on that?

I am sure it has far greater ramifications for the country then SSM.

Ironic indeed. I posted it as I believe they will be just the first of many companies coming out in support of the yes campaign.

I can't imagine there will be many campaigning the other way.

Malcolm Turnbull says Australia would enact the ANZUS Treaty and “come to the aid of the United States” if North Korea launched an attack against the western superpower.
The ANZUS Treaty was forged at the height of the Korean War and North Korea views the entire US alliance system including the US and all its allies as a threat and target.

Ok, thank you smile .

I didn't realise public voting could be voluntary depending on legislative changes...might have to check that myself.

The reason is cause of the nature of the "poll" it has no underpinning legislation so only voluntary. If it was a plebiscite or referendum then compulsory.

Abbott is clearly deluded re this but there is a bigger picture happening - he sees it as an opportunity to wedge Turnbull and wrest back the PM'ship. And if the result is 'NO', Turnbull is in significant danger IMO. But it'll be Dutton not Abbott they turn too - Bishop has nailed her flag to the mast and is damaged goods.

I should add I don't rate Dutton as any better than Abbott. Morrison wouldn't be happy either.

Yes,....I didn't realise voluntary voting was possible in this country, if a public vote was required. I have always thought public voting is compulsory, regardless.

Do not bother responding to my last post as I'm unlikely to respond to the reply.

You would not think they would be stupid enough to put Rudd, I mean Abbott back into a position of power.

Maybe a bit of truth once in a while doesn't hurt, because stuff certainly ain't gonna change if the same thing is done again and again in the same way...expecting a different outcome.
