Kangaroo - The sat pic indicates to me some better action in an hour or 2 up that way. Looks like a little "front" and some possible coldies coming through in a sort of east west line of cloud.

The eastern end near Crookwell at the moment.

Mt Werong and the Jaunter area are pretty good for snow too. I went to Jaunter for a rogaine (a sport like orienteering) way back on August 24 1991, but it got postponed due to snow. My then rogaining partner took some photos, which I have scanned and saved onto USB stick. However I don't know how to post them on here. Do I have to put them on a photo sharing site like Flickr first?

Yeah you do. Imgur is rather good too as you don't have to make an account on that to share photos.

There's some pretty cold air aloft (with pptn) down your way again snowboob. Any reports?

Hi OR. Nothing yet. Late this afternoon and up till maybe 11pm might be something. I've been watching met eye - there's a bit of ppn which looks like it might have gotten through - I'll go up in the morning and take a look.

Good job SB. Enjoyed reading media reports of a small group (humans + quokkas) enjoying the settled snow (2-3cm) this morning....so you had company! smile

I didn't spot the quokkas this morning but saw tracks in the snow. That report was from Andrew Collins a local ABC employee. He arrived before the rest of the happy crowd - 10 minutes or so after me. Someone later told me he was speaking live on the radio via his smartphone and mentioning 2-3 cms - that would really be stretching it - sure you can find spots where it's getting closer to that depth but overall the cover I would have to say was less than that.

I had a look into the long term (Late Aug- Mid Sep).... looks average for Spring.
Quite a bit of rain in the model outlooks...
But SAM, MJO and the PV are all in pretty good positions for next fortnight or so.
Should be an interesting time IMO.

Over at ski.com.au there is a buzz around major snowfalls for the resorts for the coming week.

Figures over a meter are being bandied about taking the base to well over 2 meters if forecasts hold.

BoM is going for 203cm as a maximum possible potential, while yr.no goes for 167.7cm.

240.9 cm's the latest reading.
I'm guessing this will be the peak for the season.
Absolutely brilliant late season.
