Don't think it's as simple as that.

It was a swipe at the comments back on page 212 .

Turnbull's words about the "sloppy Greens" are going to come back to bite him quite hard. Especially given Joyce and Co tried
to bury this for YEARS !

"And it shows incredible sloppiness on their part. You know, when you nominate for parliament, there is actually a question. You've got to address that Section 44 question, you've got to tick the box and confirm that you're not a citizen of another country. So, it is ... it's extraordinary negligence on their part."

Now watch as the government come up with some incredible spin on how his circumstances are different from the Greens just like they did with that other liar, a grown man who's mummy did it.

Well, as usual, issues need to be taken in context.

The sloppy greens comment - well was highly deserved, they were both born OS and would have known they were dual citizens.

Barnaby a different story, as I highlighted above. The very fact he wasn't born OS nor applied for it, will test the High Court and it's interpretation of the relevant part of the Constitution. I wouldn't be surprised if they interpret it in his favour.

But if they don't, then Dastaryi, Wong and a whole horde of MP's and Senators are in trouble. Constitutional crisis? Cosgrove to step in?

...and on another issue..........(from the Guardian)

"Peter Dutton quietly introduced the Australian Border Force Amendment (Protected Information) Bill 2017 which would dump the extreme secrecy provisions that surround detention workers ..."

It's funny how he changed it when the government is facing a challenge in the high court for human rights violations.

You need to keep some perspective, despite your hatred. People born OS or who applied for it - they deserve to go if they didn't address it. Those who are 'deemed' because of their parents, despite making no application themselves NOR being born OS, well that's another story and wouldn't surprise me if it's how the High Court sees it too.

But then again, it could be a world of pain for all parties. We shall see. I hope they rush this case through so it's dealt with urgently.

You need to try and take your own advice. Legal experts have already said the law does not discriminate . He holds New Zealand citizenship so is ineligible to sit in parliament according to law. The two Greens members knew this so did the honourable thing and stood down.

But then there is no honour in the Coalition. They make it up and change it as they go along.

Sorry, but anyone who knows how Parliament works knows that the good ol' saying "quietly introduced" is baloney. Legislation is on the Notice Paper, would have gone through various processes to get there etc. Most times it wold have also been provided to the Shadow and various community groups for consultation.

LOL I take my own, I think I've been the most (if not the only) balanced person here. I'm relying on the Solicitor Generals advice, a statutory independent legal officer, regarding the status of Barnaby (noting that it is via a media article so no one truly knows the whole detail of the advice given). Not grasping at straws or salivating in my own dislike of a political party.

Cheers for the chuckle. I'll add it to the one I had reading some of these tweets off the web .

"In hindsight, it was a bit of a giveaway when Barnaby demanded to move his entire department to Dunedin"

"Barnaby Joyce, July, re throwing stones @ Greens over citizenship "You bet your life the stone will come back & hit you"..."

This one is my favourite grin

"Incredible that the man who went after Pistol and Boo is actually an undeclared foreign pest"

...and Turnbull's beaty...

They would have to, otherwise as I said it would mean other countries would easily be able to interfere in Australian politics.

Do what I say or I will make you a citizen of our country which means you lose your job.

And if the High Court does the right thing and flicks Joyce, the crowd will rise and give the Mexican wave like the Socceroos had just won the World Cup as Barnaby removes himself from parliament (kicking and screaming lol).

You know, if this keeps up, Labor will fall over the line at a by-election and snatch power from Turnbull.

We should be glad to see Joyce go, but not as much as his National colleagues. Moving a government department into his electorate at a cost of hundreds of millions. This man should be sacked for this act alone.

And then there is Lord Turncoat offering immediately to go to war with the Americans. Sounds like Menzies saying because the motherland was at war, so was Australia. For sure Lord Turncoat doesn’t believe for one minute that Kim Jong Un is actually going to fire off any of the missiles towards Guam and so this is just a pre-emptive boot licking exercise, which will be completely ignored by Washington.

The world has changed for us. The only country that is in continuous wars is in fact the USA. Trump is likely to go to war if things look bad for him domestically. Time Australia took a more independent stance from the US, one that is more co-operative with them rather than dependent on them in nature.

What idiots we have in charge?

This is a government that shunned the UN. Don't hold your breath. If Joyce goes they lose their majority and will do everything in their power (maybe even retract their insults to the Greens? Nah just kidding) to prevent the carnage.

The worst outcome is 75-75, the most likely the seat returned to the Nat's.
