Sure has; sun is nice but that air is cold. Oh well. Spring in 5 days and it still feels very much like winter at this stage.

7 degrees this early - that is cold. It's around 8-9 is Sydney's West. Still 13 degrees on the coast but it will drop a couple of degrees when the Westerly takes over later this evening.

--------

ACCESS and GFS are showing a cool change for Sunday, with the blue line and the 850 zero degree isotherm both extending well North of Sydney. Moisture will be confined pretty much to the coast (in fact mainly out to sea), unfortunately. ACCESS and GFS also show a warm outbreak for the following weekend (850 temps 12-14 over Sydney) but it's very early days.

For Winter lovers, GFS has a significant cold outbreak in a fortnight, but that would depend upon how the butterflies flap their wings.

Yep sure is cold guys, my thermometer says 5.0 right now and will only drop further. I think Albion Park will drop to about 2 or 3 as a min, probably similar to here.
Got an electric blanket out of the cupboard today and set it up since I'm sick of always waking up cold in the morning. And heating in houses down here on the lowlands isn't really designed for cold nights.

Yep noticed that cold change Steve, GFS has < 0C up to the QLD border for Monday morning and then a few other follow up cool bursts through the week so a rather wintry end to winter actually, which in recent years is unusual. Last year was cold in late winter and early spring though if I remember correctly.

We got even colder than Albion Park's 3.2, Kino. A min of 2.0 here!! I've been a bit lazy in resetting my thermometer lately, so the other mornings before this one, the mins were wrong because I hadn't reset it.

Yeah, should be an interesting window of opportunity for snow. It's actually been improving on models too. 2 days ago, it was nothing out the ordinary predicted for Sunday into Monday.

12.9mm in the 24 hours to 9am, most of that fell yesterday morning.
Slowly warming up here after a mostly cloudy drizzly morning.

Storm season just cant come quick enough now!! I reckon I've watched about 25 hours of storm vids this past week gone!!

Port Stephens is blessed with it's geographical position - it "catches" those S/SE and even SSW events that we al miss out on. Beautiful part of the world except for the great whites lol

A beautiful day today after a crisp, clear morning.

Spring is on the air. Deciduous trees are spouting, jacarandas are turning yellow, the water dragons are starting to awaken and I just saw a family of ducks and ducklings.

Funny you say that I took some pics yesterday of a family of ducks, they must have had a nest on the vacant block next door, cause she was taking the young on their first swimming lessons, mind you they had a 200 metre waddle to the pond.

Possible small hail now in Sydney's forecast for tomorrow afternoon.
Certainly a cold change.

That's a perfect description Steve, although you forgot to mention the putrid smell of controlled burns that are suffocating the western suburbs and in particular, here in the Hills District?
Were winds favorable for you and there wasn't any smoke in your area?

Yes Homer, no smoke in this area. It's been brilliantly clear. A light NE'er has been blowing for the last couple of hours. I noticed driving home just now that the sunlight had a reddish tinge, filtering through smoke to the West.

Cheers.
Out here, despite the cloudless skies, it's been an absolutely putrid day. Even inside the house smells of it, and I've been out for a good part of the day with everything locked up.
Oh well.
I'm certainly looking forward to tomorrow with the strong southerlies pushing in and blowing it all away, as well as the aforementioned possible hail in the afternoon.
