Hi all - sharp intense burst of cold air moving through Tassie will head north rapidly, bringing snow to CT's and Mid Northern Tablelands tomorrow and wintery conditions right across the eastern half of NSW.

Local hail is also possible with showers after lunch. Air behind the change will result in a very cold day Monday with temps 3-5c below average.

MetEye is on board, showing snow on the Central Tablelands at 1600 and 1900 tomorrow Sunday 26th. The snow seems to be East of the Divide, mostly above about 1,100 metres. The forecast says snow is 'possible' above 900 metres. Once again, the moisture isn't really there.

So we'll see how it goes.

MetEye upgraded overnight with flakes expected from lunchtime now through to 7 tonight. Rain expected along coast from 10am (though nothing on radar at all yet and southerly still not pushing up coast).

Upgrade in forecast for coastal areas from 'small hail' to 'hail'.

winds starting to swing around to WSW & increase now. Still no sight of any precipitation. If that cold air pushes north, I think there's still chances of flakes around Robbo / Bowral.

ha ha that lasted long frown storms off south coast now; but still nothing on radar near us. Not feeling that confident as yet. The colder air seems to be wrapping though Vic back over SA.

I'm confused.

If the air was that cold I'd have expected a more significant drop of temp than 0.4c?

Read my post again.
It dropped TO 0.4 degrees, not BY 0.4 degs.

No worries. All good.

I just noticed that in the South Coast district, snow is forecast to 600 metres today so definitely Brown Mountain, Pidgeon Hole etc will get flakes.

I was just checking a FB friend who lives in Berridale, he has posted some photos of a nice snow covered ground there!!

Anyway closer to home we had a low of 4.4c this morning, slowly warming up as the last of this high cloud clears.

Looking forward to this afternoon.

Wow, this is some serious cold for the eastern GDR, I think Braidwood will get some snow then and probably Nerriga too. Then as the day wears on, that rain band moving up the coast should get heavier. Could be similar to a proper southerly buster but there may be snow at Robertson and Kangaloon as Kino suggested earlier.

Yeh, I was thinking that too but there's no snow forecast for the Illawarra high ground. If it's 600 metres on the South Coast surely there could be snow in the places you've both mentioned?
It is forecast for Jenolan, Lithgow and Braidwood, but not Bowral, Katoomba or Orange.
Bit hit and miss.
