How high are the Watagan's?

BTs are still in line for some snow above 1200 metres overnight into Monday, wouldn't be surprised if snow goes to 1000 metres!!

They don't get very high, I think about 400-500m ASL so I assume it was a tongue-in-cheek comment by Stormy.

Thanks for that link Stormy3, I can't believe there was so much widespread snow around there. I don't suppose you lived in the area in 1965?

Yeah I knew it was a tongue in cheek comment, I just generally wanted to know.

It will be interesting to see what Canberra's and Braidwood's temp drop to shortly.

Certainly will be interesting to see. Moruya is sitting on 10 degrees right now, so the cold air is still remaining largely intact as it moves north.

Defin watching temps to the south as I reckon there's a chance of a flake at Robbo and will head up there - timing is the issue I'm guessing around 4'ish

I reckon could be even about 3pm!! time will tell I suppose. Good luck with the chase.

Gee if you were down the snow this weekend and was coming home up the Hume and had the timing right you could possibly see snow for a fair portion of the trip!!

Change now pushing into Ulladulla with showers. If Nowra gets as cold as Moruya I'm heading to Robbo.

Even better that you lived there in 1965 Stormy!!

The temp here will have to be less than 10 degrees for me to head up.

I've got a good feeling about this. It has been bitterly cold today in Katoomba. Looking forward to seeing how we go later on.

Yep - that blob just to NE of Canberra is what I'm keeping an eye on. I'm thinking of leaving at 3 (only 35mins or so to Robbo). I think flakes won't be in initial surge but defin in colder air behind it IF moisture comes in from south (which looking at radar suggests it will).

Yeah I'd say you're right.

Snowing at Carwoola to the east of Canberra and in the southern suburbs of Canberra.

PS: Only getting colder at Moruya with 8.8 now.

8.8 at sea level is damn cold! That defin brings Robbo, Bowral, Moss Vale into play if it persists!

The Wattagans are located West of Lake Macquarie. The highest point is Mt Warrawolong (641m), about 35km West of Morriset. I think Mt Sugarloaf (412m) is at the Northern end of the range. Mt Yengo (668m) is further West near Putty (and pretty much inaccessible).

The changed passed through Ulladulla about 12:10PM. It dropped the temperature by about 5 degrees by 12:30. At 12:30 it was just reaching Point Perpendicular.

If it were Summer the change would be about 3 hours away.
