Is it any wonder this country is in a mess with useless politicians (some of whom are apparently foreigners), stagnant incomes, enormous private debt and uncontrolled government debt? Turnbull’s a dud and Shorten would pave the quickest route to see Australia become like Venezuela. With the three shiftiest political leaders of recent times - Turnbull, Shorten and Di Natale - all supporting SSM is every reason why I won’t be. Legalising SSM is like creating laws that assert the earth is flat, that day is night or that wheels must be square - pure nonsense like the term ’marriage equality’.

I received an email from Turnbull last week - a carry over from years ago when I worked a while in his electorate - telling what the government is doing to keep us safe in crowded places. Couldn’t help responding that terrorism in Australia was actually created by the government: by involving us in useless wars in the Middle East and by importing asylums seekers from the same area.

I'll make up my own mind. Nothing to do with gronks like Abbott pushing the no vote whilst supporting a man accused of covering up the greatest atrocity imaginable against children. Nothing to do with flat earthers, tin foil hats or the staggering hypocrisy of the catholic church.

Simply down to the realisation that I have no right to tell two consenting adults what they can't do. Basic stuff.

Being influenced by any of the aforementioned garb is merely diversion from taking responsibility for your own actions. wink

As for the thrid world reference, the current mob are doing a fine job of getting us there. No need to finger point elsewhere. No-one can say with any certainty how Shorten would perform. We certainly can with the rabble we have now.

A massive blowout in the debt and deficit and yet no mention of that budget emergency from any of them. Come in spinner.

You seem to have misread what I said.

I said that is what she "says" with no evidence to back it all up.

Do you believe everything every politician has ever said?

I certainly don't.

If I believed all the lies then Abbott would be a no brainer as PM again. His list of BS is legendary. The RWNJ's lapped it up.

Heck ,I've even seen he,Joyce and Hanson referred to as honest in here. laugh

...and yet it worked when you retyped it. Go figure. Must be that impartiality filter poke

So very true.

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/opinion...828-gy5o4n.html

From the link (and she's not the only one who thought Turnbull would be better than Abbott).

"Now, a confession. I regret that I was a person who believed that Malcolm Turnbull would be better than Tony Abbott. Instead, his team of wafters, grifters, sadists, egomaniacs, psychopaths and New Zealanders has sought to divide, exclude, demean and derail Australia's journey to unity and decency. Neither unity nor decency sounds all that exciting but that's where we need to be".

Venuzuela was part of the axis of evil with Iran and Iraq, their crime was to push for trading oil in a currency other than the US dollar. If oil was traded in another currency the ramifications on the US economy would have been dire. I agree that the place is basket case. Meanwhile we are happy to trade and be pals with the true evil of Saudi Arabia, where beheading is the punishment for blasphemy and women cannot drive, but worse is that Saudi turns a blind eye to ISIS as they share the same goals.

Most Australian ISIS fighters were sons of immigrants. I do however share the view that their religion is too much a way of life to work here.

Yeah, Jenna Price, one of those university lecturers i spoke about on the previous page. Teaching our future journalists the ways of the world, and we wonder where balance in our media has gone.

Regardless of the author, the highlighted paragraph is spot on. This government is all about divide and conquer. That is not government, it is a national shame.

...and she is right. They have stuffed up pretty much everything they have touched. I know several associates felt exactly the same way about Turnbull, hoping he would deliver better government but he is just another version of Abbott. The polls tell the story.

Your solution is to return fire regarding Shorten. You must be the slowest one in here because I have said several times already I do not like him either.

...and the staggering hypocrisy of THIS fool knows no bounds. It is ok for him to continually leak regarding Turnbull but not OK for anyone to return fire.

Not a murmur from any on the right in here about Abbott being intoxicated on the job. Not one ! So much for that balance from the self proclaimed fence sitters !

Out of context? Not a personal attack? Get off the grass. You made your bed ,at least have the courage to lay in it.

...............

Fraudberg is on TV telling us about his great power saving initiative where I can access an app to switch suppliers. Just shows how out of touch these clowns are. We only have one supplier as do most regional centres.

If they're from the left, yes they do.

Try some bi-partisan comments and look up the laws of Ecuador....no wonder this thread gets shut down.
And this is for you too as RC can't understand it..........

Under Ecuador's 2008 constitution, citizenship is automatically bestowed on people born overseas to a mother or father who were born in Ecuador, "up to the third degree of consanguinity [blood relation]".

But earlier versions of the constitution held that a person born to Ecuadorian parents could only acquire citizenship if they took up residence in the country, or expressed the desire to be Ecuadorian.

Under the 1929 version of the constitution - which was in effect when Senator Gallagher's mother was born - women were not automatically granted citizenship, but could apply for it once they turned 21. Senator Gallagher's mother left Ecuador as a child.
