Penrith and Richmond have reached 29, as has Olympic Park. They might get to 30. The car thermometer was showing 26 in the Ryde district a little while ago, with a light, warm Northerly. I think 24.9 is it for OH. You need to strong Westerly component to overcome the sea breeze there, which we don't have today. It is still warmer than an Day at OH IN September 2016*.

* Which was 24.6. In fact this morning was equal to the coldest in September last year at 10.0. The minima for the 1st and 2nd were both colder.

We have a light warm Noreaster blowing here, I'd say its blowing NW just up the coast and its being sucked in here, bit like yesterday's NE but eventually it became real fresh late in the arvo.

Hello Stormy. I got VLC Player and can now see (and hear) your camera stream on my iPad. Lots of bird sounds.

The Western sky here looks similar, but there's nothing on the radar.

The cloud has stopped warming in Sydney's West so most places just missed 30. Richmond got there. OH has snuck over 25. It's about 27 here.

EDIT: sea breeze being pushed back at OH, now 26.6. Warmest since April.

Quite interesting atm, 26 at Bellambi on the coast but 21 at Albion Park with seabreeze despite being further inland. Here it is also 26.

Bewdiful day!! Some dark cloud passed over a little while ago, threatening to rain but now it's sunny again with some cumulus clouds to the NW that look a little convective.

N/NW finally arrived and temp has jumped literally 4c in mins. Now quite warm and dry, Now, because this temp has been reached after 3, does it get recorded against today or tomorrow?

It will get recorded as today's max temp. Maximum (and minimum) temperatures are measured over the 24 hour period between 9am and 9am, e.g. 9am September 3rd to 9am September 4th.

Today's maximum will be whatever it gets to before 9:00AM tomorrow, so while the late warm-up is too late for the 3:00PM bulletin and maybe too late for the 6:00 News, it will be reflected in the official statistics as today's maximum.

Actually that's a common situation in Summer. OH and other coastal stations often get 'bonus' additions to maxima if, after a day kept relatively cool by seabreezes, it warms up overnight or before 9:00 the next morning.

=====

The sun cam back here and its warm and windy, 26-28 across Sydney. After tomorrow, it looks like a cool week coming up.

EDIT: Richmond had quite a diurnal range, 3.7 to 30.4 (26.7 degrees).
Sounds better in the old money: 38 to 87.

3-30C, cold night again, but what a diurnal range!
Absolutely beaut day, slow to warm and without the sheer brutality of summer.

Change is here now - temp rapidly dropping, wind increasing (arrived with a 35 knot gust), Dp's also recovering.

Really?
Temps are still rather warm over a large part of the south east of the state.
Moruya is still 21.1.
This might be a wind change, but the coldest air hasn't even reached most of Victoria yet!!
Look at the beast about to hit VIC!
