It is sure rubbish. BTW had a few drops last night (again) around 10pm. Exactly the same as the week before. Just weird. But was nice to see, hear and smell some maritime rain (which is always cleaner than stuff from the west).

Massive amounts of smoke in Sydney's west or south west. Already casting an orange hue on the sunlight in the CBD.

Is it a prescribed burn or an actual fire to be fought?

I'm heading up to Sydney tonight, so that smoke smell will be a delight!

There's a plume of smoke extending from Lake Burragorong across the Camden area towards the City, which shows up very clearly on 'Layers', especially visible true colour:
Layers

You can also just make it out on the Satpic of NSW (visible). There's another more diffuse area of smoke near Colo Heights.

Mediocre day again, 4-19C, but only a couple of brief spikes of 18.5C saw us just meet our maximum, most of the day was around 17C.
Really looking forward to this junk weather getting better soon.

13.5mm in the 24 hours to 9am, not a bad way to start the month!!

I think it was a pleasant enough day here by all reports as I was in Newy all day, temp only maxed out at 16.5c though, so it might have been a bit breezy.

Here is a pic from yesterday afternoon from one of the many short downpours we had.

A pretty fresh start this morning 3.8c, shouldn't have too many more single digits now!!

Already warming up quickly, going to be a nice spring day, providing your not near one of these below.

Plenty of hazard reduction burns planned for today, a couple of burns around Dungog and Paterson are planned for today.

Wow Ron that's cold!!

Another hideously over-forecast min here, forecast yesterday as 8 needed up at 0.4c!

1C minimum this morning, some light ground frost around when I took the dog out.
Has quickly risen to 12C.
Next week not looking so bad at all, with all the predictions of a nasty cold change after the Sat-Mon burst of warmth, should still stay above 20C, which is good.

There is so much smoke here that I cannot see any blue sky.
A yellow/orange tinge to the light.

Wow I thought it was cold last night. But the lowest we got to was 3.5 degrees so quite a bit warmer than the Airport.

Completely clear skies here but a tad hazy like a normal summer's day. Warming up despite a seabreeze, so it's a rather nice day. Wish that westerly would break through though.

How could it possibly be 22 degrees at Norah Head with a NEer?? Obviously bad exposure or some other problem because it could not be that warm.

No smoke here, but there's some in the distance to the NW and a lot of smoke to the NE (burning in Kuringai Chase?)

Otherwise it's all sunshine and blue skies, mild after a chilly start.

Beautiful blue skies here, it feels a lot warmer than what the temp is suggesting, not complaining though. A classic spring day.

Still a tad bit smokey here Steve, but nothing like this morning.
There's still a whiff of burning eucalypt in the air, but the skies are bluer.
Even though it's been mostly calm here today, a slight change in air flow direction obviously has blown away the worst of it.
A nice warm day here - reached 20.4 degs.
Currently 18.7.

Wow!!

Latest Thredbo forecast has up to 173 cm's of snow based on the 10:1 ratio of mm's to cm's.
The minimum amount forecast is even 104 cm's!!

Knotty? You had post after post after post that this was going to be a really crap snow season.
I'm not really sure why people make predictions like this because the weather is such a variable phenomena, and so impossible to predict on a long term basis.
It's possible that next weeks Spencers Creek total could be nearing 3 metres!
Incredible stuff!!

**Btw, Perisher has a max total of 203 cm's forecast.
I don't expect 2 metres of snow to fall in the next week but even half that is amazing for September.
