Looks like it, but luckily we have time on our side for downgrades!! grin

Least this weekend is looking a lot warmer than a few days ago!!
Early next week is looking quite warmish.

Ohhh great, I love being cold... This has felt like the coldest few days of winter for sure and it ain't even winter anymore. Keen for early next week then if there's warmth coming.

And re wind, I'm sure it will be back at some point tonight!! Maybe not at your place Kino but I think it will make an appearance here. Would be happy to be wrong though and just have a calm night all night.

I'm sure you would whinge about the wind if you lived in Wollongong.

True but they picked this change pretty well. Least the next one looks more like a traditional southerly which means we could see some decent stream showers with it.

Lets hopes so anyway!!

Snow depth of 233cm at Spencers Creek today which is just incredible!! Beats this time last year when the depth was about a metre less. What a turn around, I envy anyone that can head down to the Snowies and ski. And because it's spring it may be cheaper (?) since its off peak times now.

Well as I expected, the wind has made a return here. It's not incredibly strong but there are a few strong gusts for sure.

People in Sydney aren't complaining about the wind because there is none there. Would like to see how other people would enjoy having trouble going to sleep because the wind is thrashing its guts out every night..

This wind is completely full on now. Would be well above 50km/h.

According to OCF some suburbs of Syd might exceed 30 next Wed before what looks like a significant change/front drops the temps down to 16-17C on Thurs. Tues forecast to be 27-28C for the most part, making it a nice couple of days.

All models are supporting a hot spell Tuesday - Wednesday (12-13th) next week, with 850 temps over Sydney around 14, higher further North and inland, with max temps around 28-30.

This is followed by a big cooldown, 850 temps -2 to 0, blue line up towards Qld, as it always seems to show 8-10 days out. Like any number of occasions this Winter, this will wind back to something much tamer, like the cooldown now forecast for the coming weekend.

GFS is suggesting a wetter, trough patteren after that, but that's way off.

A nice bold whine with a nice old chunk of cheddar goes down a treat.

Looks to be a 20 today. Not as windy but breezy still.

@WR man that low humidity in Qld would be very drying. Good for washing but not much else.

Maximum sustained winds (measuring winds at a height of 10 metres for 10 minutes, and then taking the average) of more than 119km/h.

Many locations may see gusts above 119km/h from time to time, but wouldn't see sustained winds of that speed.

The change mid/late next week is reasonably similar on both Access and GFS.

As Steve said, the 540 thickness is well north, around here, GFS thinks thickness of about 532.

As usual, not much precip for us BUT Access hints to me that there might be more than recent changes.

Not expecting any major snowy change but at least a little bit of snow might be more widespread up here than recent changes.

Will have to wait n see.

A very light shower here overnight - nothing mentioned in the airport gauge but we have clearly had a light shower.

Still windy out here, chill is fresh again. Another cold pulse tonight/tomorrow, dry though as usual this year.

Quite a cold week, mainly due to the wind and cloud, nights not frigid is the only difference to recent times.

Thanks for that slotmachine, yeah 119km/h+ sustained is something that we don't really get unless there's a very strong ECL.

Another thing about this wind: The southbound run on the freeway every day is starting to get a little annoying because the wind pushes my little car around so a straight road is not so straight when you have to constantly correct your steering because of wind gusts. Oh yeah and empty bins in the middle of the road on the way home too, once again a result of the wind.

Thought we'd moved on from this darned wind, seems not. Another well-below average day here. But least early next week looks warmer, before another pretty savage cold change moves through (Max temps struggle to mid-teens frown )

A few degrees above what I thought it would get to in Newie west today. Even as the wind had a bit of west in it.

Ha. As if a storm will stop whining. Just creates new whining material. It wasn't strong enough. It was too strong. Not enough hail. Too much hail etc etc. Weather and whining go hand in hand. No escaping it due to differen tastes and temperaments.

I reckon you're spot on actually. "That storm just missed me", "it fizzled out" etc.

Would love a storm of any kind though right about now!!

Today was a bit better. This morning was nice while there were light winds but then the wind came up and made it feel chilly.
