Looking forward to photos smile

Yep - the marching of time sometimes shocks us grin

EC/ACCESS & GFS all have it plenty cold enough Thursday/Friday.

All depends on moisture availability as usual. Like most SW changes, Hobart not ideally placed but the Mt will do ok as usual I suspect smile

I'm starting to think Cradle trip Sunday should be postponed? Will I actually be able to get there without a 4WD?

Just keep an eye on it, they try to keep the road open as much as they can I think for tourista's.

Snow can disappear from the Moina to Cradle area fairly quickly - plenty of open spaces and dark road surface help get that off. There is one corner that I remember can be icy due to being sheltered but looking at the map I'm struggling to say where it is. If I was driving I'd recognise it as soon as I got near it but I can't pick it from Google earth.

My son regularly drove from Moina to Cradle (& back) for his work as a chef up there, at night or day in snow in his falcon station wagon. It rarely stopped him and he's not overly adventurous smile

I think the icy corner was around 16k'ish from Moina

This next little blast looks reasonably tasty, different to the first earlier this week. Reckon those NW locations that saw snow earlier in the week may struggle more with this one (wrong wind DIR) and there should be less total snow in western and the highland areas than earlier in the week (some big falls judging by the pics around Cradle). Again precip anywhere that is reasonable populated will likely be an issue - as it always seems to be.

The only thing I could say about it is BOM have upped the snow level in their warnings to 200-300m, from 100-200m last night. That is you Stale fish and I would be happy with that anyway, I just want to see and 'smell' the snow in the higher suburbs from the city ( haven't had that this year ). As Snowies says, a lot of it is dependent on how many showers come in.

Like Dave says, maybe a traditional snowy September..

Indeed Yep smile

As you guys all know, I reckon September is about the wildest month for weather (winds & snow). Certainly keeping you "entertained" so far this month grin

I don't miss those winds!!

I DO MISS living at Ridgeway and getting those snowfalls at almost 350m much more regularly than was ever forecast smile

How you said "see and smell the snow" - boy o boy I hear you!! That's how I like to be, use all the senses to imprint the memory and the enjoyment. Well said Yep. smile

Good luck SF smile

Hi all slush on deck and the temp is 1.6 degrees.
Snow 1cm deep at Kaoota at 350m at a friends house.
Back home now but my brother is still at Great Lake and he has 1-2cm on the ground fresh and -3 already.

I am looking forward to the next big shower!

Mt Nelson store is about 280m asl or so, would that be right wingtipvortex? Hill suburb close to the city.
