Just had heavy showers come through and we had a period of about 10 minutes of proper snow falling in Kelso.

Looking at some of the current temperatures:

Orange Airport 0.5 @9:30AM, 0.4mm since 9:00. It could well be snowing there.

Oberon 1.4 @9:00, with 14mm of rain in previous 24 hours. Some of that could be snow.

Temps in Bathurst and the Blue Mountains 2-3 with some precipitation, maybe a few flakes.

Seem to have been a few useful falls of rain in the Tablelands.

EDIT: just saw Dave's post, snow in Kelso next to Bathurst 660 metres.

Hi Steve, to help you out - no snow at all in Orange - nothing at 900m and nothing at 1400! Sorry to bring bad news! Light rain overnight - cold rainy day today.

Onya Drew and Dave! smile

Snow in Kelso...don't see that too often!

16mm of VERY welcome rainfall here. Currently 1.5deg, cold enough for snow but too dry now.

We were obviously lucky to be under the right cloud with a good intense amount of precip.

A lucky dip thing obviously.

I drove through that shower this morning Dave driving to work at Orange, and the temp dropped from 5 to 2 just before I went up the hill. There were a few flakes mixed in amongst the rain.

No snow in Orange, just some sago and drizzle blowing through every now and then

For continuity I'll add my bit here too:

During the period reported above, I observed occasional falls of tiny white pellets, but no flakeage. I'm similarly located to Davidm, so his flakeage must have been very confined. This sago snow was later observed intermittently travelling across north Orange from west to east, elevations ranging from the mid 800's to the low 900's.

I can concur that it snowed in Bathurst this morning. I am in the industrial area near Robin Hill. We had 3 lots of showers come through which all contained fairly good size flakes. No settling though as the ground was very wet. Interested to see whats around at Yetholme/Oberon etc.

We drove to Bathurst this morning, leaving Lithgow about 10.30. For roughly half the trip (the first half!)there were frequent showers of sago and small snow. Not once did I need to use the windscreen wipers because the snow was so dry it didn't stick.

Yes, Stoxxo, great picture (and not just in size), a genuine Winter / Christmas Card scene.

P.S. When I post pictures from Flickr, it gives me a choice. I find that long side 500 or 640 (pixels) works well here. When I used to use Photobucket*, I would reduce iPhone pictures to 20% or 25% of their orginal size (normally using MS paint) before posting and linking. I am not familiar with other photo hosting apps but they would allow similar options.

(* I stopped using Photobucket before it held my old pictures hostage because it was so slow and clunky as to be unusable).

I generally use those dimensions too. Stoxxo is using imgur which also has options to reduce the picture size.

But fantastic photo, it looks lovely. Edith seems to be a little hotspot for snow I've noticed this year.
