I imagine it really must be cold and windy right near the beach where you are. Not much wind here but still feels a bit cold anyway.

The rain was basically useless, now there's dirty drops on the car to add to the light rain on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Think I'll give her a hose over, maybe even a proper wash!

Yeah, it's blowing a gale here and the wind is downright frigid BUT you can smell that more southerly component to it cf the westerly drier air. I hate rain from the west. Give me that maritime moisture any day - beautiful clean drops.

On a side note, I got some of this new ceramic based car polish the other day that lasts 12 months and the dirt basically blows off. Waiting for it to arrive, will tell you how it goes (Carnuba is nice but dirt sticks to it; need a ceramic based polish for longer lasting shine).

Certainly quite a brutal change this is.
Temps drop quite a bit after it. From warm to quite low chill factors. Much like Thursdays change.
I'm off to the NRL this evening at the Olympic stadium.
As much as I would love some rain, I'd prefer to wait till the next system. smile

Bombala's ob's have been fascinating today.

I'd be interested to hear how you go with that Kino.
I'm working in a dust bowl at the moment and my metallic grey ute is perpetually brown.

I'm sure as the weather gets warmer we will get more rain than now. This time of the year is always traditionally the driest time anyway.

Yeah let us know how you go Kino. I have a 2003 Pulsar so pretty old but I'd really love to keep its lovely silver metallic colour for years to come.

So mate, is it feeling cold down there?
It's still over 20 deg's here and feeling really warm.
I'm expecting the cold southerly to blow thru here soon.

Getting quite cool here. The change has come through in the last hour, dropping temps by about 5 degrees so far. Places further South look quite cold, 12-14 in Illawarra coastal areas.

Still partly cloudy, with less blue sky than earlier, but no sign of showers and nothing on the radar.

Age is just a number wink and mine is a 2005 smile but very well looked after. Plus it's a 1.6 diesel and I get 1000 - 1200km's per tank.

I've also upgraded all my bulbs to LED's which are sooooo good. Highly recommend Auto One at Shelharbour they even install them for you.

Sure is cold, but there's only a very light breeze so it feels warmer than the windy 16 degree day on Thursday, despite also being cloudy atm.

One of my relatives has the same type of car as yours, but a 2 litre diesel. The low range acceleration is very enjoyable. Yes ultra fuel efficient but her's now has problems but I don't think it was that well looked after and it has 220k or so on the clock.

I'll keep that in mind, and one of my friends just yesterday recommended auto one when we were talking about car parts. He said don't go to supercheap.

69km/h gust at Norah Head, so quite a strong southerly change or even borderline southerly buster

Yeah the 2L had issues, the 1.6hdi thankfully avoided them. The key with diesels is regular oil changes, and to upgrade the thickness of the oil viscosity as they age. If you do that, chances are they'll go forever (they're only starting to run in at 100k!) The main issue with the 307 is the turbo & the DPF.

Back to weather - it's so dark to the south and decent fat Cu but again they're being driven to the ne away from us. Hopefully we'll get a glancing shower or 4 before the next dry weather sets in,

Yeah I think the turbo blew on this particular car. I put thicker oil in my car as well, 10W40 instead of 10W30.

Did you see the really nice sunset Kino? Would've looked nice from your side of the lake unless the low cloud was below that higher cloud that was illuminated.

Clever, I put 15-40w in as well as an additive in the oil. I've found that fuel additives help too.

The sunset was stunning smile what happens when you get a little h2o in the air instead of dry crap.

Doesn't really do it justice as I came in quite late.

Good stuff CoastalStorm. I was going to take some pics but I got to the lake too late.

Anyway it is a freezing cold night, 2.7 currently here and an exact 3 at Albion Park.

Was freeeeeezing! We are on track for a record dry September unless we get some watery goodness soon; and models aren't that encouraging yet.

Hey WR did u see we came within 0.1c of breaking the September min record on 2/9? Didn't hear anything in the media or on WxZone about it tho...(not surprised they're too busy looking for Voldemort).

I actually did notice that when I was checking how much rain we'd had. This morning would've broken the record if the wind didn't come up at 3am. Here I assume we didn't have wind all night and so we had our third coldest night of the year with 0.5C.

PS: We're in mid September and we're getting mins like this:

Thredbo Top, Goulburn Ap -7
Orange Ap, Canberra Ap -6
Cooma Ap, Young, Perisher, Tuggeranong, Nerriga -5
