Today is a real juxtaposition - the sun is glorious and warm; the wind frigid like my ex.

Max was only 17 (4 below average and 3 below forecast) yet it felt much warmer than that (I'm in shorts and washed the car!)

Oh wow Kino, shots fired!! Pew pew

Anyway, yes, today has been a fantastic day to be outdoors. I've been busy doing work inside so I'm going to do some outdoor activities now. smile

Great pic - that's the day that guy died in the rip, isn't it?

Ho-hum day, 4-20C, and the missus asking how come I was not in summer clothes!
That is not summerish in any way, just ok for a mild winter's day only.
Things looking much brighter this week though 32-33C by the end of it, a short burst of rain though would be the only welcome addition.

Yeah I'm keen for it Derek, bring it on.

Nah Kino the guy died last Sunday, and I was actually there earlier in the day and the water did look very treacherous.

Wasn't dangerous in any way on Wednesday though, surf was only small.

I was up at Singleton all day today and I find it hard to believe it only got to 20c, felt like 24-25c but by 3.30pm it really felt cold with what I think was an easterly breeze. Not a cloud in the sky to be seen.

What about the air pressure ATM, 1026.9! Not bad, after 1027 today.

Yeah another cold night here too, 4.5c was my overnight low. Warming up nicely this morning, currently 20c.
Can't wait for the humidity to arrive so we can kiss these sub 10c nights goodbye!!

Nice pics too!!

3C morning here, almost a light ground frost.
Yeah, will be looking forward to seeing the back of cold nights here too Eddy, certainly those that are 5C and below.
Don't mind the high diurnal range though, could be up to 25C today, compensates a little for it.

Hi guys, I drove to Sydney (North Sydney actually) on Saturday morning.

Left here about 8 am in nice conditions BUT hit the winds as soon as I started up towards Yetholme. From then it was VERY heavy winds across the BM's.

We ended up at North Sydney Bowling green ("The Greens") for my son's bucks party.

It's an exposed site and that change belted in hard around 4 or so in the arvo. Chilled rapidly.

At home, Sat morning was about zero, yesterday was -4 and today was actually -3.2.

It will warm up noticeably this week. Not many nights for the fire to go this year.

Hard to see it even getting close to 25c today - the SST's off the coast are only 16/17 and with NE'erlies blowing it's struggling to reach 20!

Coastal sites might as well have their thermometers in the water when it is like this.

Now's the time when you have to look at some more inland sites to gauge what the weather is doing. Richmond leading the charge in Sydney with a brief little spike to 28.4 not long ago.
I tend to watch Mt Boyce to see if the W/NW wind is strong enough and getting stronger for any possible late surge through the basin. Also I add 10 to the temp to see what the upper limit of temps could get to.

Westerlies really starting to blow up on MB now so a late surge is possible, Kizz.

We had a very dramatic rise in dew point here with the arrival of the NE'er at around 1pm today!

Just took a look at the sat pic and wow there's not a cloud in the sky for at least 5000k WNW of Brisbane. That's going to make for some serious interior heating.
