On the fresh side here now, and today only 21C did not make the forecast max of 23C.
Looks threatening to rain, but still nothing.

Scheyville National Park, a former Army base, on Sydney's NW outskirts. After two months with almost no rain, things are looking dry as...

Pretty much all lawns, fields and nature strips in Sydney look like this unless irrigated.

Haha, Thanks Seabreeze. I certainly did enjoy my holiday, even it was a little wet the first couple of days, and I'm glad I decided to stay one extra day just to see some storm action!!
We are already planning the next holiday up there in late January and this time will make an effort to say G'day!! smile

There will be some useful rain around the place today for inland areas but the coast will likely stay dry apart from some dirty spits maybe.

Looks rather wet in Bathurst today.

Sometimes on race day you can get views of some interesting weather throughout the day but it's all just uniform grey today.

PS: Terrey Hills radar is back online.

It does indeed look a bit wet, surely they have had more than just 2.4mm??

Sure looks good - picking up intensity better than Kurnell and Appin. Terrey Hills shows a decent moderate band of rain (maybe embedded storms too) heading east. Appin shows light rain at best.

I was thinking the same thing Eddy, so I checked this out..... http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/flood/centralwest.shtml and the low totals being recorded appear to be quite consistent right across the central west.

And Kino, the TH radar always read rainfall better than Appin or at least always showed it as being heavier.

Good to see the Terrey Hills back on line. Funny that it didn't rain while it was turned off.

I think Terrey Hills does exaggerate rain intensity somewhat, with red and orange blobs leaving only modest totals as they pass over.

-----

There are some good totals (15-20mm) in the NW of the State, e.g. Dubbo, Bourke. Maybe that will move further East and South. Just modest totals in the Central West, around 4-7 mm.

Radar shows the showers creeping into Sydney, but no Sydney site has registered anything yet.

I think Appin radar is more accurate for my area at least. I can't comment for Sydney though.

Bit of spit here too. Been rubbish weather all day really, and no rain.

I don't like the rain very much but [censored] it is very badly needed right now.

Forecast for Sydney tomorrow indicates 5-10mm of rain, for some reason more than Wollongong, Newcastle and the Central Tablelands. It also indicates a 'possible' storm.

Mild with grey dome skies today after a few sunny breaks this morning.

I'm liking the Hunter's forecast for tomorrow, thunderstorm likely, possible severe!!
Bring it on.

Anyway a few solid drizzle patches this afternoon/evening, probably about 1-2mm.
