Not "again, wrong" . I did not make any assertion about whether the southern oceans had warmed or cooled.

Really? For someone who has been here for only two months you've certainly thrown enough antagonistic posts out there...TBH it has made it a lot less of an enjoyable space. Perhaps chill for a while and give everyone else some space to express opinions without ripping into them?

Ironic given you've gone the personal attack. Where did I "rip into" anyone. Pointing out a different opinion isn't "ripping into anyone". Seems to me there is a clear hidden agenda in here and that certain individuals will attack anyone else who disagrees with that.

The secret group may have bullied a number of posters out of here, but you won't me.

No ,you backed up a comment regarding a 4 week period and Kino provided the evidence that it was incorrect. You took his response out of context in your haste to defend another poster. A poster who has pretty much jumped on everything anyone has posted in recent weeks and yet everyone else is the troll.

Kino is quite right in saying that the southern pacific has not general warmed in the past 4 weeks. Mike's claim was incorrect and he simply pointed out as much.

Evidence of continued / further cooling is supported HERE.

...wishing there was a facepalm icon... Secret group? You need to get out more. TBH this part of the forum is pretty much unmoderated which is to the detriment of the majority who want to discuss the climate not deal with all this personal stuff that keeps coming into it. Part of the decline of this forum.

Ironic, given you keep attacking me personally, for merely posting contrary information.

I've debated the ideas; yet as always there are several posters who only 'pop by' to attack me or anyone who dares question incorrect information posted in here.

So let's discuss the climate. Do you see general warming in the southern pacific over the past 4 weeks in that run I attached Bello?

A lot of wasted energy here, but i'll give you guys a TIP. Put your thoughts on here, and don't expect or look for any replies. If there are negative replies just ignore them. They are only words and secondly that person has no relationship with you, so don't waste time thinking about what others say. for example, right now i could say an el nino is forming, which is totally ridiculous, and the bad replies come in.... just ignore them. it will pass and you put your thoughts up, which is fine. If you find yourself arguing with someone you have never met on the internet, then their is something wrong in your life, eg get one and move on smile Anyway, Mods you'll have to hit wasted comments quicker i think.

I only see continued cooling on that loop as well, no warming whatsoever. If someone else says it's warming then that's fine, no point trying to convince them otherwise on here tbh.

From the perspective of someone who lurks regularly I don't see any decline in this forum.

I see vigorous debate that usually leads to some kind of intelligent exposition.
Thats how science proceeds.

Carry on gents.

Hopefully with the current wet signal we are close to or have already reached the threshold levels where more local atmospheric/ocean feedback loops can become established and we'll see continuing Nina-esque weather.

to be honest that means more to me than the reactive model forecasts or the differing "official" declarations of La Nina or otherwise.

What on earth is going on?

2016 SAM goes mostly Positive bar the odd temporary wild swing late Autumn and Winter and early Spring then comes in October and goes negative rest of Spring and through Summer til March before going back to Positive again.

2017 SAM generally positive most of Autumn and Winter bar a one or two weeks where it went negative.. It continued to be positive into September... Then we enter October and this?

http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/daily_ao_index/aao/new.aao_index_ensm.html

Surely not the same pattern as last yr? Can't work out why the SAM stays predominantly positive in the cooler months then negative in the warmer months? Love to know what is going on here.

Which is not 9 months. And is not forecasting a massive westerly wind burst.

And my most recent prediction:

Quote:

Prediction: more cooling for the rest of the year, but probably another significant interruption and well short of La Nina, and warming early next year.

My bad for failing to realise white was cooling instead of neutral when I first looked at the image. Still areas of warming look pretty close to areas of cooling for SH to me.
