Front about to hit Melb with burst of heavy rain and strong gusty winds.

70km/h+ winds with the front in the Mallee today.

Lots of 10-20mm falls in W,SW Vic today, very happy times there before a hot week next week for us all.

Enjoy the rain tonight

The rain at the Sth Melbourne vs Sydney FC FFA Cup match on Foxtel looked quite intense.

We got 5mm here in very noisy wind and rain around 1am. Currently sunny with light wind. Yeah, Samboz, warm and dry for the coming week.

(Apologies - posted this to a different thread - but more appropriate here.)

Good event for much of the state with 10-20mm widespread ad some in the 20-30mm range most had over 5mm

Cool mild few days then warm to hot and sunny few days cant wait

Looking unsettled warm to hot and possibly humid with arvo showers and storms late next week

cant wait for warmth and sunshine next week but

Yep Twister, handy rain held up for large areas of the state. Very happy about that.

Lots of wind at different times last night, and interesting boost to evening temps here from 6pm to 9pm (cool became very warm out).

3mm here.

Dry old Gippsland will have to wait for a week before humidity arrives again, as TW1 has noted. If we get storms late next week, hopefully they wont be dry ones fire-wise.

Very interesting weather yesterday and last night. It was overcast, dark, gloomy, and windy with spitting rain, but all afternoon it was quite warm and muggy too! For much of the time the temperature was in the low-20s, peaking at 22.8C.

The band of heavy rain associated with the cold front arrived in Belgrave at 8:30pm; an hour later the front itself swept in; its passage was accompanied by about 20 minutes of very stormy weather - squally winds and heavy showers! grin

The frontal rainband cleared off not long after midnight, with a few more showers to follow behind it.

Collected 14.7mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am, with the peak rainfall rate being 32.8mm/hr at the time of the front's passage.

Today has been very settled and mild, peaking at 19.0C (following an overnight low of 8.1C). The sun was pleasant, although it was an otherwise mostly cloudy day with a coolish, gusty southwesterly.

Currently around 14C.

Good to see some got a decent rain drop or two. A piddling 6 mm here. Better than nothing I guess and that drop almost met our total rainfall for September which was record dry month. But then our August total was exceptional - double the average for the month. Hopefully we can get at least average for this month.
