yes Stormy....it is something. Its nice to have a little moisture. Models are up and down about the next couple weeks. I can see this -SAM starting to show up with some more westerly influence which isnt great. Hopefully clashing air masses produce something, but Im not warm and fuzzy about big rain just yet. Something should show up soon though....

Morning all, an interesting drive out here weatherwise from Sydney yesterday. I had to drop a couple of things off at a mates place in Singleton on the way, so went via the M1, then via Jerrys Plains and Merriwa. It was dry when I left Kingsgrove at 10am, but by the time I got to the M1 at Wahroonga I was getting some annoying drizzly type precip. The further North I went the heavier the rain got, until the top of Ourimbah Hill, then the heavens really opened up. On and off rain from there until Singleton. After that just overcast to Merriwa, then by thre time I got to Cooks Gap it was sunny, albeit very windy. A nice day out here today, but a bit breezy smile

Yes,GringosRain,we don't want the westerlies back, unless it is a westerly squall line, ahead of a storm.

Another trash nothing day - neither warm or cold; not wet but cloudy periods.

ACCESS & CMC still look good for next weekend; EC & GFS not interested. Something has to give soon. Surely.

History will record Sydney's max for each of Saturday and Sunday as 22 even though we experienced what most would regard as a cool, cloudy weekend. This was owing to a spike in temperature during a sunny period from about 8:30 to 9:00 this morning. The temperature didn't rise above 19 yesterday. Today, it has been stuck close to 20 all day and is still there now. Just an odd quirk of the 9:00 reset and the fact that the cloud closed in again shortly after 9:00 and stuck around all day.

20 is an unsatisfactory temperature in the warmer months. It's warm and clammy by night but too cool for my liking by day as the wind normally picks up. Even so, today would have been OK for outdoor activities, even if cloudy weather seems to be bad for ice cream vendors, even when it doesn't rain.

Was rather interesting weather in different locations despite seemingly boring conditions. The coast was the only sunny area! Drove all the around the place today. Left Berrima area around 12pm under cloudy skies with drizzle even around Burrawang, but then the my place was mostly cloudy but with plenty of blue sky to the east at the coast. Then I had to go to Bargo so away I went. Headed up Mt Ousley and then all the way from there to Bargo it was full cloud cover, not a speck of blue. Then back on the coastal plain again it was even sunnier than before.

Woulda been one of those days where Kino had plenty of sunshine being close to the coast, while here it was considerably cloudier nearer the escarpment.

For so early in the morning there's certainly some explosive cumulus clouds, I've been watching them build since I woke up at 7am.

I would not be one bit surprised if there eere some isolated heavy showers around later on.

Yeah on way into town plenty of verticality and caulifloweriness to them. Pity there's no upper support. Same yesterday - huge chunky blobs, availed to usual nothing. ACCESS has sort of upgraded overnight to now having 10-20mm over 2 days. GFS & EC still not keen.

It is just ridiculous, the models look so baron for the Sydney area for the next week and a bit, ACCESS-G barely wanting to give us 10-15mm, EC not even going for 5mm across a large part of Sydney in that time, GFS going for 20mm but its probably just hypecasting like it tends to do poke

getting pretty stupid now with how dry it has been.

Yeah it's almost laughable hey - everywhere copping it yet one great big hole over Metro/Illawarra.

Looks good for a few mills at the end of this week. My mother's davis in Gosford recorded about 20mm over the weekend, yet only 0.2mm here...

It'll turn everyone. It'll turn.
It's frustrating while it's so dry, but eventually, we'll all be wishing this dry weather back after months of dull, dank southerlies and rain.
It's the nature of the beast.

10-25C, perfect spring day today really, cannot complain.
Nearby wetlands looking a lot better, even after just over 20mm of rain, and over 3 months of negligible rain before that.

Ridiculously dry here in Bowral, normally drier Goulburn is tracking double our pathetic 26mm in the past 10 weeks. The wind has been savage too stripping out the moisture.
Sigh.
