I think what happened is the rain system saw the headlines in the morning bulletin and thought, well we are having none of that.

Quote:
ROCKHAMPTON has only had a taste of the wild weather with experts warning the worst is yet to come.

The storm system which has dumped hundreds of millimetres on some Queensland townships to the south is forecast to hit its hardest from this evening.

I think I will believe it when I see it as I have heard it time and time again and we end up with 5mm.

This is getting silly now. My house feels like I am living in a swamp. I have resorted to closing it up and turning the ac on to dry.

Why can I never have those pleasant showers that green life up and cool it down instead of being bloody hot and dry or rain of biblical proportions.

I think we have had a years worth over the last couple of days. Going to be lots of cleaning up to do after this with the amount of trees that have fallen over.

I am lucky. Daughter has the horses in town with her and we killed the pigs the other week and butchered them weekend gone. Dogs are not happy at all.

Hubby isn't getting to work. I don't think we will be getting anywhere for a week.

My gut tells me it will head north as in skip this area and St Lawrence to Mackay will get a heap. It will rain itself out the way it it just refusing to move.

The son will be darned unhappy if it goes to Mackay. He has paid for tickets to some music festival up there on the weekend and a weeks accomodation.

So if Rocky is now affected does this mean the trough has moved north?

I would think RC has had some rain also looking at the radar, rain has spread inland south of Rocky now too, with another band moving south too currently around Thompson point area

Yes it is raining here now. Currently it looks like there is a feeder band coming in and going towards Mt Morgan. It will be interesting to see if that stays like that for most of the night.

I have found if you get under one of those bands you can get some high totals.
