Well tennis got "interesting" when at around say 8 ish (I don't play with a watch) we heard tremendous roaring to our west for several minutes before the wind belted us on the courts.

It was something that stopped pretty much everyone on court (16 courts) especially when it hit. We all tried to play on in the hugely swirling roaring & raging wind but tennis took on farcical and comical proportions for about the following half hour.

We were sure we would be nailed by a big downpour but it didn't happen.

We could see lightning all around us but we were clearly in the rain free donut hole.

We managed to finish our 4 sets before some light steady rain appeared, somewhere around 9 or 9.30. It then "rained" lightly for a few hours.

A lot of lightning to our south and east, mostly CC.

Kudos to GFS for it's handling of this event - prob around 100km out for us here in the Illawarra, and the resultant flow is mores sse/s which is keeping the showers off the coast.

Wollongong (Bellambi) got 20mm; Albion Park 6mm and Kiama only 0.2mm frown

Forgot to mention - only about 3 to 4mm for Bathurst out of last night.

Some areas eg Oberon likely to have had more. Reports of small hail in Oberon last night.

Interesting Dave, the event was a real fizzer here apart from the wind. Didn't even see a lightning flash anywhere. We got a dozen spots of rain and it was gone, but that being said, the wind was insane. I reckon some gusts over 100km/h here on the ridge. We could've really used some rain though frown

CS22, does that total mean since the weather changed last Friday?

For us the overall rainfall total (since last Friday) has been 37mm. Being the ex farmer that I am, 100mm more would be great!

Some light hail yesterday at home, and at Aberglasslyn shops when I stopped there in the late arvo.
Nothing too big though, and no blackouts at home, although they did have one last night in Singo.

Did you see how much the storm/rain band steered with that low!?! Steering winds were coming out of the west and suddenly they spun around from the south and the result was no storm for Illawarra coast.

Yeah, that's the wrap-around that was supposed to converge over us; it shifted too quickly east and Metro coast copped it.

I'm glad I was up here! The south coast copped some convergence as well since the steering winds were already out of the south there. Eg 62mm at Montague Island.

And wow 23C at home, gee that southerly is warm. Must be sunnyish down there?

We haven't been affected by a blackout, but we did get very, very small hail. I found a pile of melted stones from an overflowed outlet on our shed.

Humid here this morning with light SE winds,we are starting to get some brief light showers from the south here now, looks to be by the radar there is some heavier stuff off shore from Sydney, which is starting to move in.

Yeah been mostly sunny all morning; escarpment covered in dark cu; coast clear and then fat cu out to sea. Some brief wimpish showers daring to drop their loads and run. Nothing else.

FYI, yesterday whilst wondering around our yard, I found the location of the lightning strike that hit near our place was a tree behind the shed, not in the neighbours paddock as I originally thought. The shed window is made from a core-fluted polycarbonate plastic and the light was refracted to illumination differently.

Well another tree to chainsaw done.
