Sadly that's the end of any decent weather for us for at least 5 days with more stable pattern setting in (interspersed with the usual colder sw'erly change). Next weekend looks interesting on ACCESS & ECD models. But still too far away for any real hope.

Drove down to visit family in the Port Kembla area today. It was overcast with light rain / drizzle when I left home at about 11:00 this morning. The further South I went the better the weather and the traffic became. There were some very interesting cloudscapes visible from the M1 before Bulli Pass (which was closed). Maybe there were still storms out to sea.

It was mostly sunny in Port Kembla with a brisk Southerly making it feel a bit cool. I knew Port Kembla had a Port, I didn't know it had a beautiful white sand beach.

Returning in the afternoon was the reverse. The closer to Sydney, the worse the weather and the traffic. Needed to turn on the wipers as I crossed the Harbour Bridge. I note that OH got to 24 so it must have been sunny while I was away.

Yep probably the whitest beach in the Illawarra and it offers great protection from a NEer.

Well I guess everyone is out mowing their lawns this morning after all the recent rain. Just having a break for lunch while doing mine. Beautiful morning here though I have noticed the sky is a very light blue almost white.

What a day this is. Fantastic.

I see the loathsome sea breeze has funnelled itself up Sydney Harbour. If anything, the W-NW wind has strengthened in the last half hour up here.

Hopefully the sea breeze dies and the NW wins. The forecast for the next 10 days has some pretty ordinary weather for us. Some heat would be nice.

Hey Stormy...Ive been away, but from what I can tell we had about 35mm. Missus reported 36mm from the event earlier in the week and there was 71mm in the gauge when I got home. It was very heavy for 10 minutes or so, tiny hail but not much.
Very welcome....but puddles are already gone, so ready for another 70mm and another!
Hopefully this convection pays today.

Just got back from Canberra this evening.
Warm but not scorching, despite the aircon on.
Maximum reached 33C, a couple of degrees short of the 35C forecast.
Looking at 37C tomorrow though, so will feel the heat.

A beautiful day today. Early cloud cleared to a warm, sunny day. I drove up to Newcastle to visit family. We had lunch at Redhead Beach. It was warm with a very light sea breeze, maybe about 27-28. Away from the beach it was hot, 31-32 on the car thermometer. There were some convective clouds to the South, one of which seemed to have virga.

Driving home, I passed through some light showers (near Wyong?), big drops.

The heat should reach the coast tomorrow, but that's the end of the heat for the time being. Next weekend looks like a good time to be somewhere else.

Warming up quickly today, already 27C at 8:40am. Should get past 30 within the next hour or two.

Looks like the cold front that is coming will be the coldest since about mid-September in terms of 850mb temps.

A few sites could get a bonus addition to yesterday's max given the early heat (Obs Hill might just miss out however)

The W/NWly today will likely be too dry to produce anything. I would say there is a small chance of storms right on the coast with the southerly change this afternoon though. They will mainly be out to sea so there might be some flashes tonight from really fast moving storms.
