Might as well get a thread underway as we should get something from this system even if it has fizzled away to what we initially hoped for. Keep in mind that harvest is in full swing so we really don't need lightning triggering fires or too much rainfall on ripe crops so the cockies out there would be happy to see this event amount to nothing much. wink

At least the last few days have given us some interesting skies. Always nice to watch the cumulus build up!

I'm prob more keen on whether the trough has slowed up enough to produce some storms on the back end closer to Adelaide tomorrow... Might be lucky to see something on the ranges or Barossa before it heads all east....

Looks like Port Pirie is getting hammered as I type. Wind has just swung around to the WSW and the temperature is falling. No wet stuff yet however, despite what the radar has shown.

Interesting system, lot of moisture channeling down but most thunderstorms holding north and over the pastorals where there is more heat and instability. Sharp upper trough moving in from the west will make things interesting tomorrow morning, this current trainband moving down won't do much but up to 1-5mm mostly but behind this I'd expect some more showers and probably the odd thunderstorm to convect up overnight in clear air out the back of the main cloud band and then drift SE and expand into a heavier area of rain/showers and the odd rumble. Then with proper surface heating, more afternoon showers and isolated thunderstorms over the Mallee and Upper SE. Sfc low deepens over VIC then retrogrades which means the Lower SE could get rather wet, up to 50mm maybe. Hoping for 20mm here at home.

TS cool

Thanks Wave Rider! smile

This is the cell that hit Port Pirie as Helen mentioned. Lightning knocked out power to much of the city frown At least I got a little relief from my SSD smile

I'm just going to vent...
Of all the buildup, with masses and masses of storms and moisture over the interior/ north west , day after day. and all i got was .2 of a mm. I feel very ripped off.
So now that i've put it out there, some late developing cell / s will now form and wallop the city, just to spite me.
TBO i just went outside and i'ts nice a cool and 100% very overcast skies, IMO not the ideal setup or timing of this trough going through for us.
