I am guessing age, speed and stamina. I don't think anyone would disagree that a 38 year old will struggle but Cahill knows where to put himself to be on the end of a cross. It would seem a lot of our other attackers are not so good at that. Cahill should be on for the final 15-20 of every match

Oh well, that's us done for this World Cup. We just couldn't score in open play - something we need to work on.

Personally I'm looking forward to the women's World Cup next year. The Matildas are currently ranked 8th in the world and have been in good form recently.

If it's any consolation we haven't been the only team to be bundled out in the group stage. In a huge boilover defending champions Germany have failed to progress past the group stage for the first time ever after losing to Korea 2-0, finishing last in their group.
