21.1mm here in Belgrave since 9am! Event total now at 62.2mm, and still rising. Heavy fog over us now, plenty of runoff on the roads, a few blocked drains!

Currently around 15C.

Edit: Monbulk Creek is nearly in flood!

Should probably ease in like 2 hours though really over Melbourne, seems to be contracting from the west.

It is contracting from the west as the low slowly moves to the east but from my view it will be longer than 2 hours, the low is still very slow moving.

Still raining here in Belgrave. Since my last post over 3 hours ago, I've collected another 12.6mm, so 33.7mm since 9am.

My event total now stands at 74.8mm, and since the rain is set to continue for at least another couple of hours or more we'll easily enter into the 75-100mm range! smile

I was down in Ferntree Gully I earlier this evening. The roads were very slippery, and the traffic was a bit chaotic. Very heavy fog and low cloud over the Dandenong Ranges, and I saw a repair crew cleaning up after a fallen tree in Tecoma on the way home. A bit breezy out there btw.

Currently around 14C.

What's the likelihood of streams of 'bay-effect' convective shower and thunderstorm activity developing over Melbourne's southeastern suburbs and Dandenong Ranges in the southwesterly winds behind the low's rainband overnight? Anyone care to speculate?

From The Age report on the web, metric confusion:

In Euroa, 164mm north-east of Melbourne, rainfall reached 146km, breaking a 132-year record. Officials urged residents in the township, as well as further east in Myrtleford, to consider evacuating.

Still windy, its sunny and temp has just cracked 9.

Friday: 21mm
Saturday: 39mm
Sunday (so far): 5.8mm

Total for this event: 65.8mm so far.

Not a great night to be on the roads, last night, but a few unavoidable events can't be helped. I hope everyone's homes and properties are OK. We narrowly avoided a flooded garage. Had it been heavier and quicker, then there's no doubt it would have crept in.

Need to correct that: it was 41mm + 37mm = 78mm

63 mm this event here but we might be in trouble with all that rain up in euroa and its hills,Vast areas underwater all the paddocks as far as you can see, coming down from the sevens creek also got the broken river and the goulburn river all joining up.

https://youtu.be/G9X3SUT7P_w here is the link This is just one side of the road on the way to euroa , and its flash flooding only, you cant see the water very well, in the paddocks because of the stubble ,but they are all completely submerged.
