Looks like it's going straight over my place. And I'm stuck at work and can't enjoy it frown

The higher rougher terrain just inland of both coasts to our north and south have helped as is evident on the radar images this afternoon.

Some speccy photos of the shelf cloud sweeping across the Sunshine Coast just before too.

The accuracy on the Gympie radar is pretty poor but it's downright dangerous right now. It's currently showing just a little speck near Cooran which the Stapy radar is correctly showing as a large red cored storm stretching almost all the way from Tinbeerwah to Gympie. The BOM really needs to do something about that radar, and soon.

Bad luck bloke, I recon it drew up half of Hinze Dam, carried it over the hill and dumped it, it was heavy.
Think I might ask Santa for a weather station

Fantastic pics gleno and bob, it really has been exceptionally photogenic weather of late.

No storm action here yet for the season but I'm more than happy with the rain and beautiful skies.

Very nice pics!

Thundery rain this evening has brought 10.2mm since 9am. Not alot of rain with this event, with 19.4mm in total. It just wasn't the right setup here.

Photos of the undulating clouds I could see from here that formed ahead of the storm that brought heavy rain to Kempsey and nearby areas, including: Turners Flat with 44mm in 30mins (4:35-5:05pm) and Collombatti with 39mm in 30mins (5:20-5:50pm).

I really have no idea(as with most things) but looking at some Min temps in SE inland QLD are they close to record lows for December. Even here in Toowoomba which seems to be a warmer spot, I cannot believe how cold it was early this morning
Cheers;
Pete

Nice photos and reporting everyone. Thought I would throw this one up from yesterday before the thread closes. A hand held panorama of yesterday's storm on the Gold Coast. The BOM did a great job in forecasting this. We were going for chance of gusty storms which eventuated. I myself nearly gave up hope mid-afternoon.

29mm total here from this event on the west end of town. Almost 70mm total in the east end of town however as a storm sat over that area on the first day of the event.
