Some heavy falls around the northern and western suburbs between 0900 and 1200.

Enoggera Dam 74
Alderley 74
Bracken Ridge 74
Mt Cootha 72
Deagon 70

Poured here up till 15 minutes ago but has eased a bit now. Some big crashes of thunder around as well.

Absolutely pissing down here in the CBD. No lightning, but rainfall rates must be around 100mm per hour. Too bad it won't last that long.

I saw that on radar Namarrkun. I was actually referring to the Warwick CBD. Likely a quick 25mm here. Rain has stopped now. Not a drop on the west end where I live however, which is really disappointing.

Only 1.4mm here in RD so far. Hopefully some more to come later on. Only had 44mm here this month, well down on average after the wet October.

Plenty of standing water in Kin Kin from solid rain this morning. If all that yellow stuff off Tewantin comes this way the creeks should jump up pretty smartly.

Was in Nanango today and at about 1pm and it absolutely belted down. Easy 30-40mm there in as many minutes, lots of flash flooding and a few good flangs as well. Back home a mere 1.5mm in the gauge. Could really use a good downpour as our November total is 16mm, mostly from one heavy shower at the start of the month. Sunday/Monday looking the best for a good drop out here but hopefully it'll piddle down before then.

Well I'm playing sport on monday and tuesday on the gold coast, so no doubt the rain event predicted for then will be significant. My calendar is a very accurate accurate long range weather forecasting tool.

In all seriousness, this has felt so la nina-ish recently. Nothing but rain for the last couple of months, and it looks set to continue into december. It will be interesting to see whether the upcoming events will be the main show or a primer for a larger event.

Is Gympie doppler radar showing a circulation offshore? Storm cell or small low?

Some decent falls had around Brisbane today with I think the news just mentioning something like 111mm had at Mt Cootha (16.8mm here at Salisbury), very different to the BOM and Weatherzone sites forecasts i read yesterday lunch time which were both saying a around a 80% chance of 5 - 10mm for today. Not having a go at the forecasts by the way, just mentioning the differance between what they forecast and what some places got.

I noticed the forecasts chopping and changing 24 hours and less out from the rain event. Amounts chop and change. I don't think the BOM have a clear picture or they do rely too heavily on models

This afternoon forecasts said rain easing and then the 4:20pm came out and said possible heavy falls for the rest of the day/night/morning. I mean showers heavy at times add in a chance of a storm and to cap it off their is a 50% chance of all of this actually happening....... All bases covered smile

It's a 50% chance of any rainfall between forecast issue time and midnight, not a 50% chance of "all of this actually happening".

I wish people could actually experience a typical day in the forecasting centre in Brisbane... then they'd get to see for themselves just how much meteorology, human input and manual adjustments goes into the forecasts for SE QLD especially when there's significant weather around.
