Getting a good drenching now.

Had 8mm in the gauge at 1900.

Just checked again after a very heavy downpour which lasted about 30 minutes. Added another 12mm in that time to bring it up to 20mm so far for the day.

Managed to get to 20.5 today, ending my 9 day run of >25. Thankfully!

9.2mm here with distant lighting to the West.
Hoping the trough brings the storms far enough across.

Good to hear of some precip in the SE.

Looks like another couple of hot days around that 30 mark mid week before a decent cool down after that - maybe back in to the teens for several days.

12.2mm and not directly hit by any storms.
Slow and steady rain.
Hoping Friday is a little more interesting!
Have had 56mm for the month though!

Steady on 30.5 at 1345

Max temps have often been mid to late afternoon here lately, so it could go higher if the breeze drops out a bit more.

Yes these days the sun seems to be really hot on the skin even if it's not hot temp wise.

Pretty warm for you P!!

That 34 or so for Hobart tomorrow is sure hot. Away from the water - obviously hotter again!!

Hope the dry parts of Tassie get some rain this weekend. Possible if a trough/low/depression form in the right place.

Can see why PH is melting, Strahan recorded is 6th day over 30 for the month today. To put it in perspective, since the station opened in 1981 up until this year there were only 6 days over 30 in November. So in one month the record was doubled. Launceston is going to average 24.3 or 24.4 for the month - smashing the old record of 22.5.

Cracked 30 at 1300

Now 31.5 at 1400. Breeze has dropped out and the mercury is rising steadily at the moment.

Snowies, not surprisingly, I too have just recorded my 6th day over 30 for the month.

Also 15 days >25. Surely a record for here.

Looks like Hobart has broken it's record for both max mean temp and min mean temp for November.

Currently sitting on 22.4 degrees & 12.1 degrees respectively.

Haven't had a night under 10 degrees since the 9th.

Still very warm, feels worse inside bit of a seabreeze outside.
Still 27.4 degrees on the BOM.

The outflow from the storm passing Hobart is pretty intense down here in the CBD, just scored a 70kmh gust!

Strahan just had an astonishing 5.3 degrees above the average for maximum temps with 23.1C and that beat the previous record by 3.1C.

And to put the icing on the cake for the month, today just broke the daily maximum record with 32.9C.

The beginning of summer looks much cooler with average to below average temps all week

Hi all from the climate breaking Capital of Australia !
All bets are off now , I can honestly say now that it wouldn't surprise me to see even these incredible records taken down in the next few years.
Anyways on to the day and it got to a very warm 37 degrees inside the complex shed , outside on tar in Glenorchy about 34 degrees. I actually enjoyed the very humid conditions today , much better that usual searing dry oven heat we normally get.
Not one speckle of precip at all here so far and can't see us getting more than a few drops if that.
Goodnight from Topical South Tasmania .

Evening all,

Well what a month for the maximum temp records! shocked

Today really sums up November with a top temp of 34.7C at Brighton, unfortunately no storms or rain..

Insane temps there over in the west, Payshence would be able to dry out a little for once! smile

Here's some figures from home for the month: Ave max of 24.7C, lowest daytime max of 14.2C, highest daytime max of 34.7C.

5 days >32C, 8 days >30C, 12 days >28C, 20 days >23C, also had 7 consecutive days over 28C.

Rain wise hasn't been too bad, up until the 25th it was 13.4mm MTD, got a decent amount with a thunderstorm and some overnight rain late last week. Picked up a staggering 33.2mm within two days, bringing the total for the month to 46.6mm grin

YTD at home is 347.2mm, will have to wait and see how things evolve over the weekend rain wise. smile
