Hello Folks:

Just saw an interesting weather graphic: As we head into December, the US currently had only 7.6% in snowcover. This is the lowest % of the US with snowcover heading into December, in the last 5 years (2016: 26.2%; 2015: 37.6%; 2014: 22.5%; 2013: 21.8%; 2012: 14.4%).
I wonder if this will mean a very mild Winter for us?
I don't want much--I just want one good snowdump.

For the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2: Mena's Avg. Max.: 55.0F/12.7C; Avg. Min.: 33.8F/1.0C

Another totally dry & fairly warm week. I'm enjoying the unseasonal warmth while we have it. A dry Pacific cold front passed through on the 29th--the solid AM cloudcover looked promising, but nothing fell from the sky; and the clouds dissipated in the early PM hours.
Overall Low--abt. 10:55PM--listed for 29th.
Well--Hallelujah! It looks like a very, very good rainchance for this coming Monday. The approaching Pacific cold front will bring cooler temperatures for the balance of the week. I'm more-than-ready to see a good raindump.

Hello Folks:
Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, Arkansas:

.......8..42F/5.5C...16F/-8.8C..---

For the week of Dec. 3-9: Mena's Avg. Max.: 53.1F/11.7C; Avg. Min.: 31.8F/-0.1C

Finally had a nice raindump this past week, along with early-week warmth followed by a fair cool-down. A Pacific cold front passed through in the late PM hours of the 4th--although the thundershower line/cold front was solid, rain amounts were pretty varied in my area. The rain amount was wonderful, but not sufficient to lift the Countywide Burn Ban. A dry Canadian cold front passed through on the 7th, giving the chilliest temperatures since the early part of 2017. Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 10:55PM listed for the 5th (as temperatures slowly fell all the day; the Daytime Maximum was 46F/7.7C-around 11:30AM). Overall Low-about 11:35PM-listed for the 7th. The 7th was especially chilly as the cold front was accompanied by gusty & biting WNW/NNW winds.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for early-week warmth followed by somewhat cooler conditions & the best rainchances (30%) are for Saturday night.
The "Thomas" fire in S California has grown to 230,000 acres/359 SQUARE MILES/93,077 hectares--making it the 5th-largest wildfire in modern California history. Please pray for the good folks in California, as this has been an epic fire season there.

Hello Blair & All:

Yes, that really doesn't surprise me, as our monthly raintotals lately have fallen off the face of the earth.
For climatological Autumn/Fall (Sept. 1-Nov. 30): In that time, Mena has officially recorded 3.66"/92.9mm of rain (0.39"/9.9mm in September, 2.83"/71.8mm in October & 0.44"/11.1mm in November). I have recorded 2.85"/72.3mm rain in that span.
Mena's normal rainfall for those 3 combined months is 15.00"/381.0mm; so we've copped--officially--18% of average rainfall in that time.
Our Countywide Burn Ban (for Polk County) is the longest I've ever seen: We've been in a Countywide Burn Ban since October 12th.
Countywide Burn Bans (normally in drier summers) do happen for fairly short periods; but the dryness is so acute here that we're in a Red Flag Warning/High Fire Danger--we rarely get dry enough for these extreme warnings. Lately, even the Pacific cold fronts--normally good rain producers--have given little or no rainfall. I'm sure hoping (& praying) that we get a good raindump on Saturday. Your prayers for rain are Greatly Appreciated.

Praying for Rain~~~Wet Snow
