Good on Australia with an awesome victory at the WACA to win back the Ashes .

The bowling attack of Hazelwood,Starc,Cummins and Lyon were and all over the Poms and basically just too good .

Smith with his double century along with Marsh 181 cemented a first innings total that England just couldn't match.

Yeah it's a sad blight on this team that will hang over all of them indefinitely.

Well said Eddy..

Despite their undoubted cricketing talent..I've never been a big fan of Smith and Warner as leaders and role models..and Boof needs to get his head out of his ass ,be a stronger leader ,take more control and stop trying to be the players best buddies..

Maybe the huge paypackets have given them a god complex...they seem so out of touch...

TBH I don't think he should be given the chance to resign, sack him.

A good chance for the Australian Cricket Board to show ICC and other cricketing nations that ball tampering or cheating will not be tolerated by sacking or rubbing the perpetrators out of the game, it would certainly put all players around the world on notice.

As you can see I don't take cheating lightly.

No excuse whatsoever for this. Loss of captaincy and at least a suspension (substantial) is in order.

Should have been done already Eddy. The coach too if he was there.

it's not just about them. This has brought the game into disrepute and shamed the nation.

Absolutely agree. And this game and series can't end quick enough. Hopefully who ever plays for Australia in the fourth test can restore some Aussie pride. And hopefully they give some young guys a go, presuming they sack those responsible.

The fact that there was ball tampering isn't that extreme in itself. Nearly all nations have been done for it and the ICC don't appear to take it that seriously with the penalties they hand out.

What is very much worse in this case is that there was a premeditated discussion to do this - Basically a plan to deliberately cheat. Absolutely disgraceful and a blight on this country's sporting history. The under arm incident vs NZ was morally appalling, but the players actually didn't do anything illegal. Bowling under arm was within the rules at the time.

This situation is completely different and whoever was involved deserve lengthy bans. Smith, as the captain and party to the discussion, should serve the longest ban of all.

Pretty shocked and disappointed about Smith and the Aussies. Not sure why you would risk something like that with all the cameras and when you have a great bowling line-up anyway. I know they are under a lot of pressure over there and the behaviour from the Saffas has been appalling but so unnecessary.

It doesn't excuse what they did, but why don't other countries get the same reaction when they do this too? AB de Villiers did it in Australia and got fined his match fee. Marcus Trescothick admitted that the English did it throughout the 05 Ashes series, which explains why they were constantly able to achieve such bizarre reverse swing. Was there any criticism? Nope not at all. Pretty pathetic seeing Michael Vaughan bagging out Smith on Twitter when he would have given the order in that series. Everyone does it, the Aussies were just stupid enough to try it and get caught. I'd like to see everyone get vilified equally when they do it though.

The premeditation is the issue.

Exactly.
It was orchestrated cheating which they have admitted.
That has never happened before.

Probably has happened before, just no one has admitted to it or been caught.

Agreed!!

The ICC have to come down hard, none of this one or two match ban crap. Suspend them for 12 months or more, you will soon rid ball tampering real quick!!

I have to ask. I have seen plenty on this issue today but I really have not seen much in the way of indignation or vilification from the South Africans or other cricket nations(outside of the media). I am starting to get the feeling that others are not commenting for a reason. I could be wrong of course and have just missed those comments but if I am right it says a lot.
