Still 27C here on the western edge of the Blue Mountains. It's as calm as the proverbial millpond.

Still 34 here at Cooks Gap. Radar says rain, sky tells a different story frown

Was just way too busy with work to chase unfortunately, but did manage to capture a few shots from my poor vantage point called work.
Just 5.6mm fell from the three short sharp storms that passed through, no real direct hit as such, most of the activity was just to the north of town. Plenty of lightning and some half decent structure for a relatively high based storm.
I didn't get the settings right in these pics, but you will get the picture pardon the pun.

Morning all, merry Christmas!!! Change passed through Cooks Gap somewhere between 10.30 and 11pm. Temp is now sitting on about 25, but it's still quite stuffy outside.

Egads, it actually feels cold outside, 17c at Horsley Park, and I just had to close the window near the computer to keep warm.

The southerly change must of slowed down or even stalled between Sydney & Port Stephens overnight, it arrived here just after 4.30am this morning.
Cool drizzly morning.

Merry Xmas!! smile

The lightning was pretty good up here, at Port Stephens we got 3 separate storms yesterday arvo and most of the lightning was CG's over the bay, it was very nice to see. And yes Eddy there was no southerly when I was outside and that was until nearly 2am.

Merry Christmas all!

Strength of this southerly certainly underrated.
Only 20-21C diurnal range locally today, went to Upper Hunter for Xmas Day, there was no swimming weather there either.
Not complaining after yesterdays heat.

Merry Boxing Day to everyone.

Visited family on the Central Coast yesterday for Christmas. The weather wasn't brilliant but it wasn't a problem. We had lunch outdoors under a carport, kids were running around in the yard and the cicadas were going in full throat. All good stuff.

It was mild and overcast all day, with light winds picking up a bit later. The temperature was stuck on about 21 all day. As is common in this weather pattern, there was persistent drizzle and light rain on the Upper North Shore and M1/F3 as I drove through in the morning , but rain-free once you left the high ground.

Today looks like it will be similar to yesterday, maybe with some sunny breaks if the forecast maxima are to be reached. There'll be burst out heat later this week, but much less intense than the last couple of bursts. I think that the last change has marked a transition to a more easterly, troughy pattern consistent with the BOM's cooler, wetter outlook.

Some great weather for the Sydney to Hobart, looking forward to the start, and the run down the coast. I'll be sailing a virtual yacht in a sailing game for the race.

We had nice Xmas Day weather here at Watsons Bay, dry with light winds and mild.
Looking forward to seeing the yachts come around South Head early afternoon.

Mother in law has all appliances unplugged (sensibly, unlike her son in law), so no boxing day ashes. Still mod/heavy but seems to be clearing away now
