Not a drop here at Ellesmere.
I read on FB someone got over 3" at Maidenwell.

We had no hail but yeah, it came close to me thinking microburst the way the wind stopped & started at one point so I can see that drivers would have encountered white outs.
It looked to be a hit or miss type storm, sorry you missed out but I think all up everyone around here has had a good share for a while.

So much for my late stint of mowing ... ah well always tomorrow. lol

13.0mm at my place. Got man flu at the moment and was woken by a smashing downpour, by the time I rolled out of bed and limped to the window it was being hit by frozen peas. Wind was pretty wild for a bit when the hail started but 5 minutes later it had all but stopped. Checked the gauge and back to bed lol. Nice to finally get a direct hit from a storm though.

Nice one Gus, I figured you would get more.
The next one slipped through to Durong, certainly making a racket from here. Very cool this evening now, pleasant change & the AC gets a rest.

Harden up on the man flu, get in touch with your feminine side & you'll be good to go, lol.

Lovely clear night. Moon just coming over horizon here, never seen an egg shaped moon before.

The majority of any thunderstorm activity today looks like being mainly a little bit inland and in the north (although the latter region has fairly extensive cloud cover through this morning), particularly given the mainly SSW steering winds.
Activity might initiate early over some inland places.

Not expecting severity of most storms to be too high today given the modest shear.
Output for today:

The storm that smashed the Atkinson Dam area the other day made it to Kin Kin, my sister and dad have bruises from the hail that hit them as they got cars under cover, but at my place on the other side of town (less than 4km in a straight line) we had virtually no hail at all.

Much bigger pieces of hail than the huge storm that came through a few weeks ago, but the quantity was a lot less, so nowhere near as much damage.

Looking at the slim pickings on the radar, there's hope we may get the leftovers from the system that went over Oakey & dumped 29mm on them (nowhere near CF's 185mm but beggars can't be choosers lol)
Watching the radar on a 3hr loop, it's moving closer, following the range but getting weaker as it travels along.
Let's see what the Bunyas do to it.
