Thought I was doing well with 20.2mm, nice surprise anyway. Not used to a diurnal shower!

Yep, saw you were copping it, Bob.

Never mind, Bunyip, the BOM will make sure if we have a curly one approaching that their instruments will work non stop, right?

Yeah surely it can't cost to much to keep an old radar as back up.
It just makes no sense at all to not have an eye on what is happening
around Cairns.

Bunyip,- remember, there's public servant bean counters involved in their decisions,- hence the f#^%*^g ridiculous results.

Townsville 512 km and Willis Is. 512 km both showing SFA.
Surely they can't be doing any maintenance this time of year. I remember a few years ago they did so in winter time, and got caught out big time with some very unseasonal weather.

It went down at 02:00 and we had storms around , I wonder if it got hit ?

Well they have given themselves an extra day and a quarter of an hour , lol till 17:15 ...
must of missed the plane yesterday.

Yeah no budget to fix it , no tech people in the north , I think we are fairly lucky to still have mets in Cairns.

Cheers

Thought this was interesting.

Just reading Whirlpool forums, someone commented there were 15 BoM stations down on Mid North coast, Hunter and Northern Tablelands, at 11.00am.

They also noted that over the Christmas New Year break, on the Mid North coast and Northern Tablelands, by the new year 10 BoM stations had stopped reporting and only a few airport stations were left on line till someone came to fix them all on the 2nd and 3rd of of Jan.

Gossip. Anyone else noticed anything?

Another 12mm overnight in Bilyana, 115mm MTD. Looks like it could be quite a wet week ahead.

Another 37 degree day, 27% humidity thereabouts. Normal.
My yard is brown with green circles where I've watered the trees...
