Weary, that stuff danced around the coast all night, teasing us with a bit of light show and thunder. So close but so far.

I hope the could cover this morning buggers off so we can get some heat and convection and storms today! I got a good feeling about today!

Well yesterday was a let down. Stinking hot and humid with nothing but a light sprinkle that didn't register. The constant thunder was nice though even if nothing came of it.
Maxed at 37.3c yesterday. The HI got to 43C thanks to the humidity.

I really hope we get something today.

Went to sleep with some very light drizzle, and just woke up to some very light drizzle. No idea what happened in between. I have a feeling it's about to end.

Haven't checked the gauge yet.

Nice and cool at 25°C. Humidity 66%. smile

Happy New year weather freaks...

6mm here from a passing cell on the edge of a lot more off the coast at around 02:20 . Great light show before and right up till morning, not alot of thunder..

Still very overcast which is nice as its cooler but I would prefer it to clear and get the heat building so we get a good show this arvo..

Anyway may you all get the weather you want in 2018 , hopefully we get a good wet with out a huge blow.

Cheers

The heat is building here. Blue skies, temp 28c and humidity at 71%. Everything is crossed for today.

Heading up to Lake Eacham late morning to escape the heat. Hopefully storms will have started by the time I come home.

Wind seems to have swung around to the SE. Bit better for rain possibilities.

Air is quite unstable at the moment. Inland will still be the hot zone for storms today, but hopefully some cells can reach the coast. Tomorrow through to Sunday looks better for the coastal areas.

This is the least green I have seen this area for quite some time. Fingers crossed we can all get a bit of rain over the next few days.

If the models are right you guys are in for a week or more of deep easterly flow which would be good news for rain. EC, GFS and CMC all in good agreement.

Yes CF looks good, but have seen this before and ended up disappointed.
If you go off how it feels outside we should get heaps.

Good to see The Ville getting some though.

37.4 degrees on the deck.
35.9 in the house.

I think I'm getting used to the high temps now, as long as I don't have to go outside. :-/

I'm starting to get worried we won't get much of a Wet at all out here.

Good day to go to Lake Eacham. Maxed at 39c at home.
Got home just as that cell hit with 60km/hr winds blowing rain inside the house. Great lightning and thunder. 17.8mm in the gauge with hopefully some more to come.

At least you are getting some stormage Simmo...pretty frustrating down this way so far..

I see South Johnstone recorded a top of 39c today which is just 1c below the all time high for Jan.

Combine that with the humidity from cloud cover and having sprinklers on the roof and all round around our garden going 24 hr a day and its hard to describe how uncomfortable its been today...

Very green and lush and ideal conditions for photosynthesis,yes...but hell on earth for humans..!

28 its much to early to worry about the extent of the wet season to come..

No it's not Scott. Better to be too worried, then proven wrong grin

Nothing showing on the radar this far out. Sky looks fairly murky though. Occasional refreshing breeze from the south (usually from east). Keep thinking I'm hearing the odd rumble, but it's probably the neighbours who are getting set to move soon frown

Boom, max temp at 1211 was 40.7 with a heat index of 51.7, humidity was 28%. I have never seen readings like this.
33mm rain for December and nothing so far for January.
I am amazed at the low humidity reading......
NBN packed it in at 11am today so back to good old 3G mobile internet
