Looks like a repeat of last night. Starting to look quite dark to the west.

Warning includes Rockhampton but not Yeppoon does that mean we won't be affected on the coast?

Earlier the storms were going east south east, then they moved east, now they are going north north east.

Very heavy rain here now, nowhere as much lightning as last night maybe because this line of storms are moving quite quickly so I expect it will pass over in 15-20mins. Might see some back building action after. Still muggy as hell.

Where I am never seems to benefit from storms that come from the west. They generally never get here but rather split as they hit the Dee range. We do generally benefit from rain that comes in from the coast.

Only thing we do get is lack of power. 18 hours without electricity last night to this afternoon. Then it just went out for an hour again.

Gold plated network I think not. High power prices caused by waste methinks after seeing how Ergon operates with line maintenance.

Well that was no bloody fun at all. We got hammered in every direction. 2 modems blown up. After the first one got done and the storm had passed I plugged in a backup to check the weather. Next front had it blowing bits across the room.

No power.
No mobiles
I have pulled apart the phone system, replaced every single replacable bit and now have inet and home phone at least.

NOT happy.

Our power went off last night for about 5mins . I rushed around and immediately turned off the modem and the dishwasher and the fridge in case when the power returned it caused issues.

Luckily all good.

Only 29 deg today, humid compared to yesterday and not much of a breeze. Barely hitting 20km/hr here.

Been watching the small storm thatís travelled along the coastline from north Brisbane area for the last 4 hours. Itís nearly reached 1770 and wouldnít be surprised if it reached Gladstone maybe. No doubt associated with the strong southerly change pushing up the coast. Go hard little one you can do it! lol

You can have it. It has just reached here 5 minutes after the power fellas fixed my blown up transformer. 26 or so hours without power. Still dodgy inet. Even dodgier mobile reception. How can I have 4 bars but not enough service to make a phone call?

Sorry to hear that BundyBear, hope they fixed it good. I know what itís like, when I lived in Cooktown we lost power for a week post cyclone before the crews could find the broken line along the creb track near Cape Tribulation. As for the storm Iím not worried if it reaches here or not, just in awe at how far itís travelled. Garden and plants have had a nice drink for a week or so.

We have gone longer without power. Just a pita when everyone else has it and you don't. If I had not noticed the transformer issue we still wouldn't have it. I was beginning to worry about the 2 freezers full that insurance would not cover.

Tonight was nice and mild storm. Bit of rumbles, bit of light show, some nice rain. Last night even had hubby jumping and he is half deaf and loves storms. I think he needed new undies when bits of plastic were flying through the room accompanied by a sound like a gunshot. Our ears were ringing for a good few minutes after that one.

Sons dog was so terrified that she was trying to get out of the house to run away from it.
