The ferry leaves from Nelson Bay Mariner and takes about an hour to arrive in Tea Gardens and the pub is conveniently in front of the wharf!! grin

13.7mm of rain fell here last night and early this morning. It was quite overcast for half the day, and very windy. Cloud then cleared away as the wind shifted to the SW. High was 23C. Now completely clear with a moderate SW breeze and a temp of 15C. Expect the wind will shift to the SE by morning.

Good drop Stormy3, 29mms here too at the airport, so not a bad result out of it.
Temp went straight back up to over 30C too, once it had passed.

Plenty of low cloud and drizzle along the M1 between Mt Ousley and waterfall tonight, with drizzle also from Engadine through to Mt Ousley. Still quite stuffy here though sadly, and little rain.

Hopefully Homer & Perfect Storm enjoyed that lightshow off Port Stephens tonight.

Southerly just starting to come through now.

Random little cells popping up on the radar in the basin at the moment. Hope to score a few here but still ended up with 6.8mm to 9am so cant be to greedy.
Still 23.7c on the eastern side of my place outside at the moment but slowly cooling down.

Im in Gerringong for a few days. These slow moving cells are packing a hell of a punch. Theres no thunder but the intensity of the rain is keeping us awake. Its been going for a while now too, wed have to have had at least 50mm

Nice lightning pictures Eddy.

---

It's mild and cloudy here, with a couple of small blue patches. The wind is a light SE'er.

It doesn't seem to have rained here, but OH (8 km as the crow flies) picked up 5.6mm, mostly between 6:00 and 6:30. There are shower cells about, hardly moving, one near Terrey Hills and more on the Illawarra.

----

It looks like it will be fine for tonight. Doesn't look too bad for the Sydney Test, although the first day looks likely to be rain affected (it only takes a few drops).

Sorry to hear that Stormy.
It is easy to forget that these airport weather stations are often a fair way out of town, Maitland is some 10Ks out, so rainfall figures can be quite different than at one's own residence.
Looks like we had another 0.4mm overnight, ground is wet so there was definitely some rain here.
A milder day will also be welcome after a very hot month. (many places with long term records are close to 2005 and/or 1990 record levels)

Yeh, saw that light show, even though I was a little "under the weather". smile No pun intended.
Very warm and incredibly humid here at Fingal Bay. Sun's out as well. No scud here.

Haha, lucky I finished work at 9pm, it prevented me from having a few too many as it was I two quick beers before heading up the hill to take those pics.

Fingal Bay you would have had an excellent view of the storm.

Bit of cloud here but looking south looks clear skies.

Sorry for the delay EddyG. Thanks for the offer maybe next time have as I've been out and about and had plans today with my 3 mates if I was alone it would've been easier, lol.

Just got back from Birubi Beach the sand dunes were incredible. Felt like I was in the Middle East. Definitely need to come back!

Last night was our huge NYE drinking night as I decided that it's best to drink last night as we are heading home tomorrow so best to play it safe and take it easy tonight with a few drinks but nothing too heavy. So unfortunately I didn't get to see the light show.

We did walk down to Shoal bay at 4 am as we all fell asleep early from having a huge day + drinks.

Bankstown AWS looks like it's going to finish the year on 640.8mm making it around 72.5% of the yearly average. Here's to hopefully a wetter year next year.
