What happens when two shelf structures collide? Because that might happen very soon.

Moderate rain here with winds around 50-60kmhr gusts. Looked so much better. Now just light rain.

Look at those gusts at Wattamolla.

Those storms to the South are riding the Southerly - a real one this time.

113km/h gust at Wattamolla.

EDIT: 82 kmh at the Airport, 80 at Kurnell.

What a brilliant storm system, big roll cloud which moved over way before the actual storm. Got some very strong outflow winds and then when the storm hit it was heavy rain and lots of lightning and thunder! I watched it from Kiama. The wind was very strong before the storm hit and then it kind of died down. Came directly from the south. Back home now and still a sporadic lightning and thunder.

These are the types of storms I remember were more common when I was very young- hot day, arvo storm and then rain for ages.

1 minute of moderate rain and that's all she wrote. Must've formed just to my NW. Some very, very very light rain at the moment. And some light booms. No flangs.

Unless you're under the orange to red core I'm afraid the rainfall totals will struggle to add up.

The doppler wind radar shows a southerly moving through Sydney CBD fast against the incoming westerly storm front

Randwick hit by 5 or 6 cloud to ground strikes within 300 metres of my location. Exceptionally loud thunder and brief heavy rain, 6mm in gauge. Alarms going off, dog not happy. Passing to NE now.
