See most of South Australia and the Mallee, Wimmera & South West districts of Victoria have a Fire Weather warning in place today - temps of over 40 degrees forecast and low humidity, poor things but the Tour Down Under is on around Adelaide and one of the requests of organizers is for sightseers to not park their cars in dry grass. Well lets hope this is not ignored however where else are they supposed to park?
Remembering the Black Tuesday bushfires near Port Lincoln SA, started 10th January 2005 which killed nine souls, injured many more, burnt 77,964 hectares, 47,000 stock losses (poor creatures, horrible way to go) and so much infrastructure losses etc.
This was started by a man parking on the side of road with his exhaust system igniting dry vegetation.
Let us hope motorists remember history.
