That cell between Brisbane and Lowood is generating a bit of electricity.

Just a bit of gentle rain here so far but nice lightning show to the west.

Moderate rain at the moment here with some thunder. If I've tracked correctly, it's the remains of that VDS earlier from Boonah. More building behind to the NW by the looks of it.

I snuck out for a quick chase out in the Scenic Rim region when seeing those storms on the radar. Well forecasted by the BOM and Ken

Incredible lightning tonight. The constant strobing was almost painful to watch after a while.

Nice pics Glen. Any chance you got some more of tonight's activity?

What is it that intensifies and steers storms towards Caboolture time and time again? They always seem to take that path and more often than not they survive. Glasshouse mountains?

The storm core ended up straight over my area tonight, it was quite amazing how constant the lightning was, especially all the CG's coming down ahead of the storm as well as the shot gun thunder. Pretty scary actually! No hail but plenty of rain and wind which knocked out the power for a few minutes.

Radar looked promising for some rain for us last night, but 0.0mm in the gauge after the light show ended.....nothing but very light spitting to rain occurred at my location, barely even wet the road down in the end. No wind about either as the storm passed through, but it did kick in later after the event had pretty much ended.

Looks like it's going to be 37C in Brisbane today. Very unseasonal. I think I'll be knocking off early

A nice light show in east Warwick last night, otherwise, nothing to report.

Good work Gleno!
Warm 31C here already.
Any realistic chances of storms after this heat today? Missed out last couple days, only light sprinkling.

Iíd say thereís just the slight risk that a few locations (mainly over higher ground near the QLD/NSW border or in northern parts) may get a very hit & miss shower or thunderstorm later today but the majority of locations in SEQ should stay dry.

I havenít looked at much beyond today yet but I think I noticed some instability sometime next week ahead of another change. May or may not have changed since I last checked.

Westerlies really blowing today. Been watching that future event on WATL that started out looking good even for eastern NSW at first, getting pushed further north with each run. Looking very uninteresting for a while for some of us. Great to see a better October to the south of here. Hope further into November brings something exciting, rain-wise that is.
