Absolutely loved the light show last night, very impressive indeed. There was a couple of particularly close bolts that gave the house a good shaking. The wind before the storm(s) was such a relief, like someone had turned an aircon on lol. I note that there was a 61km/h gust at the AP just after 6pm when one line moved through.

Please let there be more today!

No storms today, looks like the trough is just to our NE. Should be in for a much better chance tomorrow.

Wow, Mick, and you've been so frustrated lately. And here we've had one millimetre only.
Happy for you.

yes i was very lucky mate, thank you. sadly the rest of the district didnt do as well as me, still lacking a decent rain event.

we were forecast to get 20-30mm tomorrow, bom has scaled that back to 1-3mm tomorrow. still hopeful of some storms as the trough moves thru friday night, but again, we will have to be lucky

Good to see some colour on your radar for a change, looks to continue until tonight before another northward building ridge blasts it all away.

Amazing these little thunderstorms popping up here and there. Says 21.3mm on my rain gauge but havnt check for frogs in side it...usually screws with my totals if my friendly brown tree frog has gone back home after the last time I removed him. 21.3mm seems reserved compared to actually rain that fell. Lucky I have a manual gauge as back up. Ill check later

had another 25mm in kirwan until 9am.

shame the flow has shifted NW, if that rain out to sea just off the coast moved south the whole area would be getting 50mm this arvo.

I've been saying it ever since they replaced the radar, but is accuracy is way off up here. its showing a green/yellow band north - north west of Ingham. I've just driven the road that goes directly under this band and its barley worth having the wipers on. It always seems to overdo the rain.

Edit - Just checked the BOM rainfall figure - most stations have recorded 0 or under 1mm in the area under the green band - backs up my argument.
