So the termites are going crazy extending their mounds higher at the moment. Usually notice them working this fast in mid December about 2 weeks out from big rain. They have been slack this season until the last few days. A sign perhaps poke

Patience young grasshopper. It will rain.
Take solace in the fact that Feb is the wettest month,- followed by Mar,- Jan,- April then Dec.

I hope so hickory though Jan is spose to be our second wettest month of the year here. Only 15mm behind Feb.
Still plenty of time left and it looks like it could be a wet second half of Jan.
One bonus to the lack of rain is not having to mow yet. 😃

Weird. I would have thought the monthly order for Mareeba would be the same as Cns Aero, just lots less of it.

I think it is due to the predominant SE flow that starts again towards the end of March. A lot of the rain up here is from storms and from any flow coming from the west through to north east. Our wettest goes Feb, Jan, March, December, November, April.

Things are shaping up nicely for a few storms this week. EC currently has Mareeba pegged for 9mm over 5 days and GFS for 35mm. 10 day outlook EC 17mm, GFS 80mm.

Time will tell.... grin

Forgot to say maxed at 38.2 yesterday. Today could possibly top that as it is 5.2c warmer than this time yesterday. Should be plenty of heat and instability this arvo.

Supposed to reach around 36 in Cairns so I daresay you are right in thinking you will be hotter than yesterday

Currently 37c. Dp is only 21c so not completely unbearable. A few clouds have popped up in the last 10 mins so probably see some cells appear in the next hour or so.

39.3 on the deck
35.9 inside
25% humidity
Cloudy, pretty much 8/8ths

Missed a storm at midnight, came up along the south and west. The odd flash of lightning gave me hope, but it was not to be.

Back to watering the plants again. Yard is brown with green circles.

cry cry

Bit Tropical this morning screwing the shed roof down. Nice breeze now though.

Hopefully I can get the flashing finished before any rain hits tomorrow. Time for a siesta now, too hot out in the sun right now.

Well the cells are forming on the Tablelands but there are no steering winds pushing them to the coast

at 2.25pm which is usually the peak heat of the day.... but notice there's a storm to the east, missing us once again but at least cooling things down a little.

According to AndroSensor my phone is operating at a temperature of 43.7C.

It's been so hot for so long now that the nights are not cooling very much. frown

My house was under the yellow blob, according to the radar, just north of Mareeba and not a drop. Definitely the river overlay or radar overlay is out of alignment.

That was me a couple weeks ago. Red and yellow blob right over the black dot of Chillagoe, and not a drop in sight.
There must be something wrong as you suggest.
