gfs has a low moving SE from the GOC and off the coast near cardwell, perfect scenario, but the 18z run has dropped it already.

Something will happpen. With the monsoon strengthing and the MJO forecast to remain at a decent strength...i wouldnt be surprised if it pops up again in future runs...

Is 06Z out yet? The latest 00z run has a cyclone in the Coral Sea but way out east of Aus with an upper trough that looks like it will take it away. That's way out in 384 land with GFS, which is definitely FI territory....however saying all that it's great to have something to look at and it's a sign that patterns are changing smile

The model I looked at said 06z...might have been a typo..prob was 00z

But as you say its long way out and will change multiple times and may not happen at all.but gfs has been lretty good with predicting systems just not there track.

Certainly a dry year in Ingham for 2017. The only day we cracked over the 100mm mark was in October! 1,545mm annually - well below the long term average. Hopefully something will crack next week - models are looking the goods

i dont want a cyclone, i want a broadscale monsoon system across the north. we all need rain, cyclone contract the rain and more than likely head SE anyway.

Nothing to show a broad scale monsoon system but I just want rain. However it comes, as long as its lots

But so far the charts show a good chance of that low making land fall...of course being so far out anytjing can happen. But as ive said before. Yasi was forecast 2 weeks out.
