Hey guys,

I was wondering what do you use in terms of online resources and software for keeping track of the weather? So far I'm using:

BOM Website
Weatherzone Pro
Weather Underground
WindyTV
Blitzortung for lightning tracking

I'll soon have a PWS which was shipped this morning to add to the list. I'm also eager to find some books on climatology and meteorology to further my understanding, so recommendations on what literature to read would be great.

I'd be keen to hear about any other resources or software that you guys find useful.

Cheers.

I find this one interesting, from Canada. It includes a global map of expected temperature anomalies in 7 to 14 days' time. I find it can give an early indication of upcoming warm/hot or cool/cold spells: NAEFS Anomalies

This link gives 10 and 15 day forecasts for many locations, including all major cities and many smaller centres: Weather.com Sydney 15 day forecast . I find it reasonably accurate, if a bit cool (for Sydney). The first 7 days are close to the BOM's forecast.

Here's another one I like. Good for finding sea breezes and wind changes (forecast, not real time, however): Ventusky . Lots of other info there as well - cloud, rain, temperature, etc.

Thanks Leelee and Steve for your recommendations. Ventusky looks excellent! I'm going to have fun exploring it. smile
