Seems like the next lot of 3pm rain is on the way, can hear some good solid grumbles in the distance.

Cheers 28, I just straightened it a little.

11.2mm or thereabouts from a storm the boss said came through around 1:50pm.

Varies mate, depending on distance, shutter speed, frequency of bolts etc. I try not to go over 400 with my cheap lens as it shows a lot of noise.

The luminance noise is very low in those lightning images. So good.
All thanks to your DIGIC 5+ image processor, (which is 6 times faster than the Digic 4 in my old EOS 40D).

I notice how much better the 70-200 L series lens is. Can crank up the ISO for indoor sports on that one, alas it's not much chop for lightning..
Anyway here's one more laugh

Anyone seen the swirling mass over TSV? Kinda looks a bit cyclone-esque!

Yeah, they are due to get some great falls. Should do wonders for the dam.

Finished Feb with 238.6mm over 14 days. 495.2mm YTD which is 45mm shy of Jan-Feb 2017 but much better soaking rain with the ground being the most saturated I have seen here with little creeklets flowing everywhere.
Hopefully it is a wet March!!!

Yeah, pretty well on cue it came down, but at least the kids made it home before it rained!

There is 2 peak periods for rain here, between 7:45am and 8:15am and 3pm-4:15pm.

It was that dark inside it was like night time.
Only 12.5mm recorded for the past 24hrs.

117mm for the month at Chillagoe.

The low over Townsville looks distinctly odd, completely on its own, and nothing else around it.
