Gus I am not sure what your side will get now but everything is pink outside here. Big black mothership is blocking the sun, Really thick CGs are falling from it; wind has died down; birds etc are almost non existent outside & its deathly quiet as this thing creeps closer.
Now is the time I realise why I should have bought a new phone cos mine is useless for pics & videos.
Even as I typed that it's gotten a very dark shade of pink & grey out there and I think I'm gonna go get ready for this lol.
Good luck your side Gus!
Might add this cell is only JUST showing up on the radar as one of those new ones I talked about.

It's going to choke off the whole line east of Ipswich leaving us with nothing decent. It's already raining here and thundering...

Oh and block the view of the awesome lightning too.

The storm line is showing that same choppy unstable signature from Sunday, but no crazy winds showing up on Doppler yet.

For anyone interested, here's a story on yesterday's destruction that just missed us in Kingaroy.
Storm in South Burnett
Hopefully these storms aren't getting them again today; I think they are slightly off track for those areas.

grin I pushed it over your way; more newly formed pea sized hail; can't get fresher than that lot!

Looking at the radar I can't believe there is another small cell growing from nothing near Alice Creek.
At least it's now cooled down.

Looks like that rain band that popped up in front of the main line is killing off the severe potential east of Ipswich. West of Ipswich is getting nice clear inflow for large hail. BOM has also made specific mention of this: Large [hail] is possible south of Mulgowie, and extending north through Amberly and Marburg.

Disappointing. Of all the rotten luck.

Reports in Mulgowie/Thornton of terrifying cell - large hail, very high winds and rain, friend said she is cowering in her shed with her animals, it will stop for a moment then come back around in another direction and she's never been so scared! Looks like that same cell is headed right for me at Plainland...it certainly does look scary and SO much CC/CG!

The wind is picking up here, been raining for last 15 mins, more thunder and lots of lightning. These storms have formed in the same area as Sunday nights damaging storm here. Wonder how many trees will go this time. Take care everyone

City dwellers don't get too disheartened; the radar hasn't really shown these cells we've had this afternoon in too much detail compared to what they are doing.
I'd assume it's a height thing perhaps with the clouds, not sure but they are coming direct from the West to my place & there is still a big one to come even though the radar looks pretty namby pamby right now.
Watching outside has been more effective here today.

Lightning activity to our south has reduced a fair bit.
Still plenty activity to the SE.

Whole thing seems to be weakening. Bizarrely it's the eastern half that's holding for now. Maybe the patchy rain in front provided an injection of moisture?

Well someone turned the tap off almost as soon as I posted that comment and we ended up with another 6mm with a total of 10mm for the arvo. Reminds me of seasons past when the airport and northside of town seemed to always get a fair whack more than my place!! I spose I shouldn't complain, at least it actually rained and we could be in Dalby where its still 31C. How much at your place Kazz?
