There's some decent wind out this way but Sunday's storm this aint. It's got shades of it though.

Interesting lightning strike at 09:00:37 UTC in Moreton Bay (153.178, -27.2944). This strike was around 60km ahead of the main line of storms. Not a clear-air strike, but certainly well away from the main line of action. NO planes in the area at the time, but it was near the designated flight path.

Well someone turned the tap off almost as soon as I posted that comment and we ended up with another 6mm with a total of 10mm for the arvo. Reminds me of seasons past when the airport and northside of town seemed to always get a fair whack more than my place!! I spose I shouldn't complain, at least it actually rained and we could be in Dalby where its still 31C. How much at your place Kazz?

24mm all up. and still a rumbling blass mass is slipping ever so slowly this way again.
However I think it'll be just a drizzle if anything. I'm quite happy with what we got.
Bodes well for the rest of the week too.

Might have been the same strike that UHF_CH10 commented on Whynot. The time seems to fit. Also heard it here, and it seemed to rumble on forever.

I struggle to read 3D radar images at the best of times... but to me, it seems to indicate that there some decent updrafts still working in the eastern side of this storm.

Not much happened for Salisbury...we've had 1.5mm and a nice breeze to cool the house, and that's about it. I had to close a few windows for a few minutes, but other then that the windows are all open and house getting cooled down nicely. Radar shows orange in colour for here, but it's not even raining the past 5 - 10 minutes, just a good breeze blowing, but I doubt it's anything like the 60kph mentioned for Archerfield which is a stones throw away.

Yes, thunder here where the nearest cell is miles away. It reminds me of the dry storms I experienced when I lived at Broken Hill. The atmosphere is quite charged.

yep loving the close strikes, but the kids aren't loving them so much...lol...they are still pretty storm scared since we lost windows in that big storm about 3 - 4 years back.
Up to 6.3mm now with the last lot of rain that just passed through here

Stappy has died again, last image displayed was at 19:30 EST. Really need to improve the reliability of it.

Storm died, which is quite bizarre, especially given I parked my car outside. All it got was a well-overdue wash. grin

.5 mm this morning. Kind of indicates how desperate we are when we record .5mm. Lightning over Kingaroy is a spectacle from here.

Still rumbling away up here with heaps of flashes to the north. Even though I largely missed out at my place rainwise that was one of the best afternoons for storms in a few years, constant thunder since 5pm and had probably four separate storms pass us by in that time frame. Another quick snap of the back end of the cell that dropped 18mm at Kazz's place this arvo

Ps. thanks for the comments a few pages back Ken, wet sky and foehn smile

Tomorrow is quite different as we'll have a dryline in play. It sits just inland of the coast by mid-afternoon with proper W / SW winds trying to mix down and dry out the lowers. I would say storms will occur early in the afternoon down there, moreso in the east (as opposed to late afternoon like the last few days), and contract towards the SC & WBB during the rest of the afternoon and evening.
