I knew that wind was strong but looking outside right now; it appears that the sunset is in the South because of the clouds to the West. Southern horizon has a beautiful pink glowing sunset, lol

17mm here , lovely gentle storm , a few pulsing cgs but not very close , and now a cracking sunset. Great way to finish what was a very sultry week. I hope Gleno has his camera out , this sunset is a special.

Finally! After watching the storms go past us all week we are copping it now. Heavy rain, strong winds, almost constant lightning and thunder. Also had some small hail briefly.
Power keeps flickering. Me happy ☺

Just lost power. This is getting pretty intense. Started hailing again. I'm sure I just heard branches cracking outside. One of my garden nets is about to take off. Not so happy now.

Insane lightning at Buderim. Light rain, reasonable winds.

Only 4mm of rain here and hardly any wind, but the most amazing light show and I have seen literally tens of strikes hitting the glass house mountains. Finally some cool temperatures too.

Close enough to enjoy the noise and light show but ground barely got wet. It is, however, MUCH cooler smile

Thanks sharjay. It was pretty wild but the worst of it has gone. It's been a very long time since I've experienced a storm that intense and long lasting.
No power but otherwise okay. There must be a branch or something on the road out the front as I can see cars manouvering around something. Still far too much lightning around for me to go out and check.
Pretty sure all the water tanks will be full now as there was a lot of rainfall.

Left work at 4:30 thinking today was a fizzer for us, just checked the radar now to see armageddon bearing down laugh Getting some good rain in the tank now, fingers very firmly crossed we don't get that wind that's showing on the doppler, there's downed trees that still haven't been cleared from the storm on Sunday.

"Infrared + Zehr" on BoM's Satellite Viewer pushing up to -80C near Maroochydore, which is pretty intense.

I mean - it's not bad so far, but it's nothing special tbh

The best of it is definitely to our south.
